After giving us a horror spectacle in the form of Tumbbad (2018), that regaled fans recently upon its re-release as well, Sohum Shah is back with another out of the box film. Crazxy releases in theatres on February 28 and promises to be a thriller like never before. The actor has always taken pride in the fact that he will only make films that are ‘hatke’ and with Crazxy he aims to give the audience something unique once again. Talking to BL on the latest episode of Spotlight with Smrity, Sohum Shah revealed all about his journey, plans for Tumbbad 2 and what fans can expect from Crazxy.

He also told us that he considers Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan his gurus. When we asked him how they have impacted his life as an actor and as a person, the actor shared, “I have learnt something from each one of them which has helped me in my life in some way or the other. Therefore, I will always consider them my guru.”

Further talking about Shah Rukh Khan, Sohum Shah shared, “In India we learn a lot from cinema. I love SRK’s charm. I have always felt that if someone doesn’t have even 5 per cent of Shah Rukh Khan in him, that person doesn’t have a right to live. And he is so respectful towards women. These aspects have always touched me.”

He also recalled how it was Salman Khan, from whom he gained a sense of style. “We used to wear stitched clothes, the shirt and the pants used to be of the same cloth. But it was Salman, on whom I first spotted jeans and it looked so good that I also got one. So my style evolution came from there,” shared Sohum.

The businessman-turned-actor-turned-producer, credits Aamir Khan and his philosophy for helping him in his professional life, “His mantra ‘ek banao par acchi banao’, that is something I applied in Tumbbad. That is the same philosophy I applied in my business as well and I have reaped the benefits. So where I am today is a result of following Aamir Khan’s philosophy.”

On the work front, Sohum Shah is gearing up for the release of Crazxy that releases on the big screens on February 28. He is also working on the part 2 of Tumbbad and has also taken the rights of a few iconic horror films from the Ramsay brothers.
