Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff are the current face of a famous ‘elaichi’ brand, with their tagline ‘bolo zubaan kesari’ becoming a favourite among meme creators. However, as per the latest reports, a complaint has been filed against them in Kota. As reported by Navbharat Times, a complaint has been filed against Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Degn and Tiger Shroff in a consumer court in Kota. Read on to know the details of the case.
As per the report, a complainant named Inder Mohan Singh Hani has filed a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff and the manufacturing company in Kota Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. According to reports, the complaint alleges that the advertisement by the company is misleading, and claimed that the youth are being deceived by its marketing. Reportedly, the complainant’s lawyer Vivek Nandwana has stated that the complainant believes that the Bollywood stars are considered as role models by the youth. Thus, the actors are cheating the youth by promoting a product that claims to have saffron. But actually, it contains none, states the complainant. The petitioner has also complained that the brand has failed to present any evidence in favour of its claims. Also, the warning on the product is written in small letters that it is almost unreadable, says complainant, as per the report.
The report further claims that the petitioner has demanded an immediate ban on the false advertisement of the pan masala brand and also a fine to be imposed on stars and the company. Allegedly, post the complaint, Commission Chairman Anurag Gautam and Member Virendra Singh Rawat have issued notices to Shahrukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff and the maker of Vimal Pan Masala to appear in the consumer court on February 21, 2025.
There is no official confirmation over these reports so far. The actors are also yet to respond. Once Akshay Kumar too was a part of the advertisement, however, after facing backlash, he decided to step back and distance himself.
