Christina Ricci’s divorce may have been finalized in 2022 but things have remained bitter as her ex-husband has filed a request for an emergency hearing over their custody agreement.
The 46-year-old star’s ex James Heerdegen went to court to claim that their 11-year-old son Freddie contacted him recently alleging that Ricci drank alcohol during their June 16 flight to Canada.
Daily Mail has reached out to Ricci’s representatives for comment and have yet to hear back.
However, when Freddie spoke to his legal representative he insisted that he had ‘overreacted’ in sending the text messages.
The court documents filed by the minor’s counsel in the case obtained by Daily Mail also say ‘that the description of Ms. Ricci’s alcohol consumption and behavior thereafter was not as he had described.’
It was added that Freddie had ‘no fear in continuing to be’ in the custody of his mother.

Heerdegen requested the Ricci get tested for alcohol but his request was ultimately denied.
The court went on to rule that any specific record of this incident that Heerdegen has intention of filing in the case must remain sealed from public access.
This came after Freddie’s council had noted ‘there is a real threat that public access to the statements and records may jeopardize the stability of Freddie’s mental health.’
