Chris Brown filed a $500 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. after its Investigation Discovery docuseries “Chris Brown: A History of Violence” labeled him “a serial rapist and a sexual abuser.”
According to court documents obtained by Page Six on Tuesday, the “With You” crooner accused the producers behind the docuseries, which includes Warner Bros. and Ample, of libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress through defamatory claims made against him.
Brown accused the producers of basing their series on a Jane Doe lawsuit, which the suit claims was previously dismissed “because it was full of lies.”
The hitmaker alleged that Warner Bros., Ample and the unidentified female produced the docuseries in hopes of defaming him after he spent years repairing his reputation.
Brown, 35, pleaded guilty to physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
The suit acknowledges the “Superhero” singer has made mistakes in the past, but has since “grown from those experiences, and his evolution speaks for itself.”
Since the docuseries was released in October 2024, Brown alleged his reputation and career have suffered.
The “Under the Influencer” singer pledged to donate a portion of the $500 million he’s seeking to sexual abuse victims if awarded.
Reps for Warner Bros. weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
The docuseries about Brown was based on a woman who had previously accused the R&B singer of drugging and sexually assaulting her in a $20 million lawsuit.
The alleged victim claimed Brown raped her while at a yacht party off the coast of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mansion in Miami in December 2020.
She claimed to have met the “Look At Me Now” singer on the yacht and was served an alcoholic beverage by him.
“I don’t remember if I saw him pour it, but I just drank it and he just hands me another drink,” the woman recalled in the series. “As I’m standing there, I did start to feel kind tired and my body was feeling a little heavy.”
She then alleged that Brown took her to a downstairs bedroom and got “on top” of her.
“I couldn’t move and I said ‘No’ and then I felt him… next thing I knew he was inside me,” Doe shared. “I didn’t want it and he’s kissing me from stopping me from talking … I was so disgusted.”
Brown initially denied any wrongdoings when Doe filed her lawsuit in 2022, and the latter’s complaint was later dismissed “without prejudice” due to “lack of representation,” according to NBC News.
