Candace Cameron Bure is getting honest about aging.
The 49-year-old mother of three recently sat down with US Weekly to discuss approaching the big 5-0 and what she’s doing to maintain her emotional and physical health and prolong her youthful glow.
Despite her recently married daughter, Natasha Bure Perry, turning 27 this past summer, Bure could easily pass for her sister.
Having grown up in the public eye, earning multiple acting credits before landing the role of DJ Tanner on “Full House” at the age of 11, she shared, “The pressure is very real.”
“I’m going to be honest with you: I got some Botox,” she added.
“I was trying to fight this good fight,” she shared, “Yet I was looking at my face getting more and more wrinkles, and I just wanted to get Botox.”
Though Bure wants to “age as naturally as possible,” she wants to make it clear that she believes everyone should make the decisions that make sense for them.
“I feel better for it,” she says of her decision, adding, “I’ve always said I think everyone should age however they want to age. I don’t know how I’m going to feel in 10 years — if I want to get a facelift, I’ll get a facelift.”
Beyond her face, though, she is intentional about her physical health and workouts. “Moving your body is a gift, not a given. I look at it through that lens and am grateful I’m able to work out,” she states.
Celebrities run the gamut when it comes to which procedures they’re willing to test out and what to skip entirely.
Amanda Seyfried recently sang Botox’s praises, though she said that’s where her aesthetic intervention stops.
Kris Jenner underwent a full facelift this past year, joking to daughter Kim Kardashian that her nose is [probably the only thing on [her] face that’s real.”
And on the opposite end of the spectrum, Kate Winslet gave an interview to the Sunday Times, sharing that she staunchly believes in aging naturally, adding, “It’s f—ing chaos out there.”
Either way, if DJ Tanner was your childhood style icon, then it’s probably time to check in with your dermatologist.
