Britney Spears is breaking out her Rolodex as her son Jayden James works toward launching a music career of his own, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.

“She’s helping him connect with some producers she’s worked with in the past,” the source reveals. “She definitely wants him to utilize her old relationships so he’s protected and guided through this.”

Jayden, 19, has played the piano since he was a child but is currently focused on production and making beats, some of which he has shared in since-deleted posts on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Jayden once cited his Grammy-winning mom as his biggest musical influence, though he admittedly did not understand the magnitude of her global fame until he got older. (Jayden was only 9 when Spears released her most recent album, 2016’s Glory.)

“There was this TV, and it just showed all these people, and it showed her singing and dancing on the stage, and when I saw that, I was like ‘Wow, that is a lot of people,’” Jayden recalled to the Daily Mail in 2022 in his only interview to date. “I came to the realization of how famous she was and how successful she is as a person, and that inspired me.”

Britney Spears may be a global superstar, but when it comes to her boys — she’s just Mom. Spears welcomed sons Sean Preston and Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline in September 2005 and September 2006, respectively. The singer and Federline divorced in 2007 after three years of marriage. Following her split from Federline, Spears endured […]

Spears, 44, has repeatedly stated that she “retired” from her illustrious music career after the 2021 termination of her controversial 13-year conservatorship, but she teased in an Instagram post on January 8 that she might perform with Jayden in the U.K. and Australia “very soon.” (Spears also declared that she “will never perform in the U.S. again,” which a second insider blames on past “trauma,” explaining, “She has no interest in working like that again in that capacity.”)

Us understands that Spears does not actually have any concerts in the works, but she has not completely sworn off the industry either: The first source shares that the Princess of Pop “has said she’d be open to collaborating with Jayden, but it’s still a very early idea.” The second insider adds, “Jayden has been staying with her in L.A. recently so they can work together. He basically lives with her full-time now.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Spears’ rep for comment.

Spears and Jayden were once estranged, but they reunited in 2024 after he returned home to California from Hawaii. (Jayden and his brother, Sean Preston, 20, moved to the Aloha State with their father, Kevin Federline, and half-siblings in 2023. Spears and Federline, 47, were married from 2004 to 2007.)

Kevin Federline revealed his sons Sean Preston and Jayden James have read some of his upcoming memoir, which includes explosive claims about his ex-wife and their mother, Britney Spears. “Pieces of it, but, I mean, they know all of this stuff, right?” Federline, 47, told Us Weekly during an exclusive interview on Wednesday, October 15. “[Jayden] always knew they’d find their way back to each other eventually, but he’s grateful that it happened sooner than later,” a source exclusively told Us last year. “Britney and Jayden have had a close bond since he was very young, so slowly getting into their old groove has felt special and [healing for] both of them.”

More recently, Britney and Jayden spent Christmas together while Preston — who has had his own ups and downs with his mother — celebrated the holiday at his aunt Jamie Lynn Spears‘ house in Louisiana.

“Britney was really hurt that Preston didn’t spend Christmas with her and Jayden, but he chose not to,” an insider told Us. “She tried to convince him, but he wasn’t ready to meet her halfway.”

Nonetheless, the source stressed that Britney and Preston are “both very committed” to “making strides with healing their relationship.”
