A heartbroken Katie Bates has laid bare the pain her husband Travis Clark’s affair has caused as she broke her silence on his shock betrayal.
Clark publicly revealed he had been unfaithful to his wife on Sunday – an admission made just a day after Bates revealed she had suffered a devastating pregnancy loss.
The Bringing Up Bates star has since broken her silence over the heartbreak on her Instagram account, where she revealed she was ‘being supported by legal counsel.’
She also expressed a longing to ‘preserve our marriage’.
‘This is not how I imagined beginning this year or this new season of our lives,’ she began in the post.
‘This has been an incredibly painful time for me and for our family. As many now know, our marriage has been deeply hurt and my trust has been broken. Right now, I am taking life one day at a time and focusing on what matters most: our children, their future, and my own healing.

‘I am truly thankful for the love, prayers, and support so many have shown. To everyone who has reached out, please know that I am deeply grateful.
‘After privately expressing deep regret and sorrow for his actions, Travis told me he felt it was important to publicly take accountability for what he has done, and I support his decision and desire for transparency.
‘We are working through this privately, seeking counsel both together and individually as we try to determine the best path forward for our family. I am also being supported by legal counsel.
‘This is not a quick or easy process, and it is not one I am taking lightly. Every decision about our future will be made slowly and carefully, with what is best for our family and our children as the highest priority.
‘At the same time, I do believe in God’s power to restore, and my heart’s desire to preserve our marriage. Because this is so deeply personal and there is still so much to work through, I sincerely ask for privacy. I also ask for your understanding that I may not be able to receive or respond to advice or opinions, even when they are well-intended.
‘Social media is part of my work. While I have delayed as much as I possibly can, there are prior commitments I am unable to cancel. I realize that life has to go on even through hardships and difficult situations, and I appreciate your grace and understanding during this time.

Clark, 24, revealed he had an affair in a statement posted to his Instagram Stories over the weekend – where he admitted to ‘repeatedly’ breaking his wife’s trust.
The admission was made shortly after Bates revealed she had suffered a devastating pregnancy loss.
Clark apologized for the ‘pain, humiliation, and betrayal’ he caused Bates, 25, and took full responsibility for his ‘failure’.
‘This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology,’ Clark began in his lengthy statement.
Over a plain background on his Instagram Story, he admitted: ‘I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust.’
The couple are already parents to daughter Hailey, who will turn three in February, and son Harvey, one
He added that ‘there is no excuse for what I did’ and said ‘this was my failure and my responsibility alone.’
‘I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry,’ he continued.
‘I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation, and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices. I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for,’ he continued.
‘I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome,’ he said.
He concluded his post by asking their fans to give ‘privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.’
It’s unclear how the couple stand in light of the revelation and Bates has not yet addressed the admission publicly.

The revelation came a day after Clark’s wife revealed her heartbreaking pregnancy loss.
A heartbreaking video she uploaded showed her learning she was pregnant and happily reveling in the news with her family before suffering the devasting loss.
‘I will spend the rest of my life missing you,’ she captioned the post, which showed her breaking down in tears and mourning their loss.
At one point during the Instagram video, she was lying in a hospital bed and crying as she shared that she ‘just lost my baby.’
The clip began with Bates showing a positive pregnancy test and later purchasing a baby onesie before surprising her husband with the news that they were expecting.
The couple are already parents to daughter Hailey, who will turn three in February, and son Harvey, one.
A voiceover was layered over the video’s various clips and recited, ‘I think I will ask God why for the rest of my life. And never will I come to understand it. Even if God himself came in front of me and told me the reason, I don’t think I would accept it.
‘Some loves are too hard to bear and with great love comes great pain. And with great loss comes the greatest pain of all. If love could’ve saved you, you would’ve lived forever.’
Bates and Clark welcomed their first child, daughter Hailey James, in February 2023.
Their son Harvey Gray followed in September 2024.
Bates is one of nineteen children born to parents Gil and Kelly Bates, and the large family starred on UPtv for 10 seasons between 2015 and 2021.
