Bringing Up Bates alum Katie Bates is opening up about her recent pregnancy loss.
“I will spend the rest of my life missing you,” Bates, 25, wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 17, sharing a montage of moments from her pregnancy.
Bates included footage of herself taking a pregnancy test and finding out it was positive before organizing a special way to tell her husband, Travis Clark. Later in the clip, Bates could be seen crying in a hospital room.
Bates, who shares two children with 24-year-old Clark, is one of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 children. The famous family offered their support to Katie in the comments section of her Friday upload.
“There’s no way to describe the pain of a loss like this,” her parents replied. “Our hearts are all broken, but we know we will meet this precious little one some day in glory!”
Katie’s siblings Carlin, Zach, Josie, Lawson and Michaela also shared supportive messages.
“Our hearts are broken for you Katie 💔🥺,” Zach, 37, who is currently expecting baby No. 6 with wife Whitney Bates, replied. “We love you so much and are continuing to pray!”
Carlin, 27, added, “My heart is broken for you 💔 love you, sis!! 😭.”
Us Weekly broke the news in March 2020 that Katie and Clark entered a courtship after meeting through mutual friends. Clark proposed one year later in April 2021 before the pair tied the knot in December 2021.
“This day has been worth all of the waiting, all of the dreaming and even worth all of the work of wedding planning, with its occasional stresses and anxieties,” Katie and Clark exclusively told Us of their wedding day. “It’s been worth every moment, and we really can’t believe we are actually married!”
They continued at the time, “We know we still have a lot to learn about marriage and relationships, but we are excited to spend our lives learning and growing together. It’s an exciting day when you get to marry your very best friend in life and an even more special day when you can share it with family and friends.”
Katie and Clark expanded their family two years later in 2023, welcoming daughter Hailey. Their son, Harvey, followed the next year.
“Harvey arrived last night, and we are already head over heels in love,” the couple captioned a joint Instagram post in September 2024. “Right after I gave birth, they had to take him away due to dropping oxygen levels, which was really frightening. I was able to hold Harvey briefly before they took him. He was then placed on oxygen and given six hours to try to breathe on his own. I must say, Harvey is a fighter, and we are so proud of him!”
Harvey was discharged from the NICU unit several weeks later.
“We want to thank you for praying for little Harvey,” Katie wrote via her Instagram Stories in early October 2024. “The love and encouraging messages have meant the world to us! Thankfully, he was able to come off the oxygen and is now breathing on his own, which is a huge answer to prayer!”
