French First Lady Brigitte Macron is facing a political storm after being filmed calling feminist activists “dirty b****es.”
This comes after other controversy surrounding the Macrons when US commentator Candace Owens recently triggered a diplomatic shockwave by alleging that President Emmanuel Macron “attempted to organize my assassination,” as she wrote on X.
Brigitte Macron filmed backstage
The video circulating online, shows Brigitte Macron backstage at the Folies Bergère in Paris, where she said protesters were “sales connes,” a phrase translated as “dirty” or “stupid b****es,” or even “dirty c***s,” according to Google Translate.
The activists she referenced were from #NousToutes, who interrupted comedian Ary Abittan’s show to accuse him of rape.
According to AP News, Macron’s office said in a statement that she’d been trying to calm his nerves: “As the video shows, Mrs. Macron’s only intention was to reassure an artist who, in his dressing room before going on stage, had just told her, ‘I’m scared,’ because his show had been disrupted the previous evening. In no way is she attacking a cause. She does, however, disapprove of the radical methods used to prevent an artist from performing on stage, as was the case on Saturday night.”
Candace Owens escalates feud with the Macrons after previous conspiracy dispute
Owens has a long conflict with the French presidential couple. Earlier this year, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron filed a 219-page defamation lawsuit against her in Delaware for amplifying the rumour that Brigitte Macron was “born male.”
In a series of recent posts on X, Owens alleged that Emmanuel Macron was behind an attempt to assassinate her.
Her primary allegation appears in this post:
“URGENT. Two days ago I was contacted by a high-ranking employee of the French Government. After determining this person’s position and proximity to the French couple, I have deemed the information they gave me to be credible enough to share publicly in the event that something happens. In short, this person claims that the Macrons have executed upon and paid for my assassination. Yes, you read that correctly. More specifically, that the green light was given to a small team in National Gendamarie Intervention Group. I am told there is one Israeli that is on this assasination squad and the plans were formalized. Again, this person provided concrete proof that they are well placed within the French government apparatus. Further to this point, this person claims that Charlie Kirk’s assassin trained with the French legion 13th brigade with multi-state involvement. Journalist Xavier Poussard’s life is also at risk.”
In another post, Owens claimed:
“As an update, both the White House and our counterterrorism agencies have confirmed receipt of what I reported publicly: Emmanuel Macron attempted to organize my assassination, per a source close to the first couple. Also, I will again state that the French legionnaires were involved in Charlie Kirk’s assassination but they did not act alone.”
No evidence has yet been released supporting Owens’ claims.
