Benny Blanco shocked fiancée Selena Gomez as he revealed his shower rituals.
“OK, I might not get to shower every day, but when I do, when I feel like I deserve it, I’m in there for so long contemplating life,” he confessed in a Q&A video for Interview Magazine, which was taken behind the scenes of their March cover shoot.
“I sit down in every shower I go into,” Blanco added.
The music producer, 36, went on to explain that finds it “incredible” to “cry in the shower,” which prompted a laugh from Gomez, 32.
“Do you cry in the shower?” he asked the “Only Murders in the Building” star. “Sometimes you just have to have a good cry.”
Blanco took his confession a step further, admitting that he often has “death realizations” while showering.
His bride-to-be was taken aback by the revelation and responded, “Woah!”
“No, like, I realize I’m gonna die, but it’s in the shower,” Blanco elaborated as Gomez covered her face with the question cards.
“And then I cry about it a little bit, and then it goes away, and then I feel great because … the warm water.”
Blanco attempted to quickly moved on from the awkward confession by saying, “OK, next question.”
In another part of the video, Gomez and Blanco agreed that despite his emotional shower realizations, she is the one who “cries the most” in the relationship.
The duo — who confirmed their romance in December 2023 — also opened up to the outlet about the first time they met.
Blanco revealed that the Disney Channel alum’s mom, Mandy Teefey, played matchmaker over a decade before he got down on one knee.
“It’s actually very difficult to figure out. I was around 16, 17,” Gomez recalled in their joint Interview Magazine cover story.
“And we first had music come out in 2013 or something,” Blanco added. “Her mom set up a meeting between the two of us. This is right when I became big and she wasn’t a singer yet.”
The Rare Beauty founder — who famously dated Justin Bieber in the past — described falling for Blanco as “really simple.”
“We got in the studio to work on a song and we just talked; that’s how easy it was for me,” she gushed. “I liked him before he liked me.”
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in early December 2024.
Blanco popped the question with a marquise diamond ring, which was a nod to a lyric from Gomez’s 2015 song “Good for You.”
