Ben Affleck admits his flirting skills could use some work.
The A-list actor revealed in a recent press junket for “The Accountant 2” that he relates to his character Christian Wolff’s inability to be smooth around women when just jumping back into the dating pool.
Affleck said of Wolff, “Here’s a guy who’s trying to figure out — he wants to have a relationship with a woman, he’s trying to figure out how to do that, like, how to put yourself out there.
“You know, he’s not comfortable extending himself. He doesn’t really know how to flirt exactly. He’s not comfortable,” he added before recognizing, “like so many of us.”
Affleck also noted, “It’s not easy for anyone figuring out relationships, particularly at the very early part, where you’re trying to gauge, ‘What does this signal mean? Is this person looking at me? Do they like me? Am I going to humiliate myself if I go over there?’”
The Oscar winner commended his character, though, for putting himself out there by line-dancing while on a date, which he said was “kind of a lovely thing.”
“I probably am not going to get a lot more demands for my line-dancing work [in movies],” he then joked. “I don’t know. The phone hasn’t rung yet.”
Affleck’s candid dating admission comes three months after he officially went back on the market, as he and ex-wife Jennifer Lopez just settled their divorce in January.
The former couple — who rekindled their relationship in 2021, decades after calling off their first engagement — decided to part ways for good two years into their marriage in 2024.
Affleck recently broke his silence on the split, claiming to GQ that it was “drama-free” and that the “Greatest Love Story Never Told” star was still “somebody [he has] a lot of respect for.”
The “Gone Girl” star has reportedly been “casually dating” since he became single again.
He has not gotten into a relationship with anyone new — despite what appeared to be a brief fling with RFK Jr.’s daughter Kick Kennedy last summer.
Prior to being with Lopez, Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, and it’s been rumored he “wants another chance” with his first wife — but she doesn’t want him back.
“The Accountant 2” is set to be released on April 25.
