Three cheers for the former president.
Barack Obama dined in Washington, DC, without his wife, Michelle Obama, last Saturday ahead of President Trump’s inauguration, and he received a warm welcome from fellow patrons.
As the politician was filmed walking through Italian restaurant Osteria Mozza in a video obtained by the Daily Mail Friday, diners could be heard cheering and clapping.
“We miss you,” one fan shouted to Barack.
As he exited the eatery, the 63-year-old raised his arm in acknowledgment of the rampant applause.
Page Six broke the news Sunday that Barack had enjoyed a meal without Michelle, 61, present.
The former first lady notably was also absent from the inauguration the following day, with Page Six reporting that she has “never been a phony” and “doesn’t have to unify around” Trump.
Not only did she make headlines for missing Monday’s swearing-in ceremony, but Michelle also skipped out on former President Jimmy Carter’s Jan. 9 funeral.
Amid her absences, unfounded rumors have swirled about the couple’s marriage of 32 years being on the rocks — with Barack even being linked to Jennifer Aniston.
When speculation surrounding him and the “Friends” star first swirled in October 2024, she hit back at the gossip on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Aniston, 55, insisted there was not any “truth” to the “made-up story” started by a tabloid, as she had only “met him once.”
While Barack has yet to comment, he did post a flirty Instagram tribute for Michelle’s birthday last week.
“You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it,” the former senator captioned a sweet snap of the couple holding hands across a table. “I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!”
The Obamas have been married since 1992 and are the parents of daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
A source told Page Six earlier this month that Michelle has “checked out” of DC life, also claiming that the pair are “not trying to present that they’re this magical couple.”
