The Bachelorette vet Gabby Windey and her girlfriend Robby Hoffman made the spontaneous decision to elope after evacuating Los Angeles amid the 2025 fires.
Just over two years after co-leading season 19 of The Bachelorette, alongside Rachel Recchia, the former ICU nurse, 34, got her happily ever as she got hitched inside the same Las Vegas chapel that Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker also said ‘I do.’
The Traitors star, who came out in 2023 following the end of her brief engagement to Erich Schwer, announced the exciting news on Wednesday as she shared photos from the secret, 20-minute ceremony, held on January 11, 2025.
She also shared more details about her big day to Cosmopolitan, including that they made the decision to wed after fleeing to Sin City following the devastating wildfires.
‘We had just evacuated from the fires,’ she explained of their mindset. ‘What better time to get married than right now? Because if the world is ending, we want to be with each other.’
Windey recalled immediately leaving their home, with their cat in tow, after smelling and ‘seeing smoke’ inside their residence.

‘It all happened so fast,’ Windey said, noting that they were ‘getting any of the government-aided text messages’ or any ‘guidance’ on how to proceed.
She continued: ‘It was the middle of the night. There was ash everywhere… I’m a nurse—safety is always first, and a lot of harm can be prevented if you act prophylactically.’
After packing their car up within an hour and half, the couple were on the road and looking for a place to stay.
‘We could’ve been fighting. We could’ve been bickering. It’s very stressful deciding what to take in a moment’s notice,’ Hoffman said. ‘The wind was apocalyptic. We were exhausted, and once we were on the road, we were calling places.’
They ended up choosing to go to Las Vegas after not having any lucky trying to get a room in Palm Springs.
After getting a beautiful suite, Hoffman revealed Windey turned to her and asked: ‘Should we get married?’
‘Robby was literally ready to propose three weeks in and I’m always the one pumping the brakes, but when something feels right, it just feels right,’ Windey said. ‘I think it was better for the both of us that it was my idea.’
Even as they scrambled to find a venue and lock down the details, Hoffman said they were ‘checking the news’ and seeing ‘the fire was coming closer to’ their house.

‘We were really living in fear,’ Windey said.
During that time, Hoffman said they were just ‘half checking the news, half clutching each other.’
‘We could have been fighting, but we felt like even through the process of maybe losing everything, we had each other,’ Hoffman continued. ‘So it felt braggadocious when she said we should get married. I hate when people are suffering and then we’re having a celebration, and it wasn’t that.’
Windey said Hoffman even pulled off a proposal using a crossword puzzle.
Windey said they ended up picking the same chapel as Kardashian and Barker, but avoided the Little White Wedding Chapel, where Britney Spears wed since her marriage lasted just 72 hours.
‘Our wedding was $799. That included the limousine. That included the photos. That included the minister,’ Hoffman raved.

Windey admitted she initially ‘wanted to go full Kourtney Kardashian, where she went in casual leather and Prada sunglasses’ but decided to do her own thing.
‘I went into department stores and the first dress I saw on the mannequin was off-white lace, and I was like, “This is gonna be it.” It was the only one they had in stock,’ she recalled.
While speaking about her dress, she said ‘it was a little tight’ and made her ‘butt look huge’ but it was ‘perfect.’
‘Everything just fell into place so naturally. It felt so serendipitous and so precious and so meant to be,’ she said of the day.

Windey joked that the wedding ‘was giving Bachelor because there were roses everywhere’

‘I never envisioned my wedding as a kid or anything, but that’s part of what made this feel so right. Actually being there and feeling it, it was so us,’ she raved
Windey described the ceremony as ‘literally the best night’ of her life.

‘There was no performance about it. I feel like there can be so much pressure on whoever’s watching you at weddings. We were so nervous just having it be us, too. Even our vows, I’ve never heard you talk so fast,’ Windey recalled.

‘We got so lucky. We really didn’t know how our house would turn out. All we knew was we had each other and felt home in each other,’ Hoffman said

‘Having Robby in my corner and believing in me, she’s helped me so much in the two years we’ve been together. This is the person I want next to me my whole life. I wish it was just us two all the time,’ she told the outlet.
Hoffman added: ‘We have the same cadence. I know it seems to people we’re so different, but it gels. We have the same core. I love her for her, and she loves me for me.’
In a recent interview and photoshoot with Interview magazine, Gabby revealed Robby, 35, moved in with her in August 2024 and that they both agree that they do not want kids.
Before meeting Hoffman, the former Denver Broncos cheerleader said on Bethenny Frankel’s Just B podcast in August 2023 that she believed she ‘was as straight as they came’

‘No kids! This is my baby and I’m her baby. We’re taking a page from the gays: Double income, no kids,’ Robby said.

‘It feels just the same. I’m not even seeing her gender. I do think real love transcends gender to a point, and I truly feel like that,’ Windey added.
