Success is a double-edged sword.
Andy Cohen suggested that Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover’s flourishing careers were part of the reason they called it quits after three years of dating.
During Monday’s episode of his SiriusXM show, “Radio Andy,” the Bravo head honcho addressed the beloved couple’s shock split in detail for the first time.
“They are both in the middle of an incredible amount of success,” the 56-year-old told listeners. “Both of them.”
Cohen noted that Conover “just opened a restaurant in Charleston,” S.C. with co-star Austen Kroll called By the Way. He also has a pillow business called Sewing Down South, which has brick-and-mortar in Nashville and Charleston, where he primarily lives.
In comparison, DeSorbo has called New York City home for the last few years as the now-former couple navigated long-distance dating.
“And then she is just absolutely murdering it. Killing it,” Cohen said of the “Summer House” star, 32.
Cohen noted that DeSorbo’s schedule has been busier than ever while doing a “live tour” for her podcast, “Giggly Squad,” for the last four months.
While the two have always been committed to making long-distance work, Cohen suggested that their busy schedules started to take a toll on things.
“But I was at the ‘Southern Charm’ premiere party and she wasn’t there — at his place in New York,” he recalled.
“There have been a few events that she hasn’t [been to],” he continued. “She is just so busy and I just think the more and more that that starts to happen, you know, you worry that it causes a strain or whatever.”
Despite his assumption, the executive noted that “we still don’t totally know” the exact “reason” the two went their separate ways.
“So more to come on that but I was very sad,” he concluded. “Everyone loved them.”
DeSorbo announced her split from Conover, 36, last week on her and Hannah Berner’s podcast, telling listeners they “decided to no longer be together.”
“We both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future,” she said.
She made it clear their breakup was not a “bad thing” and that “no one did anything” specifically to cause it.
“I have so much love and respect for Craig. I think he is one of the best people I’ve met in my entire life. I will remain the biggest fan of him.”
Although Conover has yet to share his side, fans have suspected the pair were on different pages about settling down.
While Conover has talked extensively about his desire to get married and have a family, DeSorbo has defended her choice to remain in NYC and focus on her career.
“If the roles were reversed and Craig, as a 30-year-old man, said he wanted to focus on his career and wait to get married, everyone would praise him and tell him he has a good head on his shoulders,” DeSorbo told The Post last year.
“But when it comes to me saying it, people assume things: ‘Oh, you don’t love your boyfriend.’ This could not be further from the truth.”
DeSorbo and Conover crossed paths for the first time in 2019 while filming an episode of “Summer House.”
While they both “had a crush on each other,” they didn’t start dating until 2021.
