The bumster is back.

Amelia Gray Hamlin stepped out in LA Thursday night wearing a pair of shockingly low-rise (and entirely sheer) pants from McQueen’s spring 2026 collection — inspired, of course, by Alexander McQueen’s iconic bumster trousers from the early 1990s.

Hanging onto Hamlin’s hips for dear life, the see-through slacks were finished with flirty ruffles and a slim leather waistband that rode well below the strap of the style star’s thong.

The 24-year-old, who recently made her acting debut in FX’s series “The Beauty,” paired the pants with the same cropped moto jacket they were styled with on the runway.

“It wasn’t about showing the bum,” the late McQueen told the Guardian of his provocative bumsters, which featured in his 1993 debut collection.

“To me, that part of the body — not so much the buttocks, but the bottom of the spine — that’s the most erotic part of anyone’s body, man or woman.”

As a nod to the brand founder’s original vision, current McQueen creative director Seán McGirr sent out various takes on the scandalously low-slung pants for spring; in addition to Hamlin’s burnout velvet version, he showed bumsters in denim, leather and wool, some paired with peekaboo G-strings.

“I’d been thinking about doing the bumsters for a year,” McGirr told Vogue at the time, “but the timing didn’t feel right.”

Now, with the low-rise revival in full swing — for better or for worse — there’s never been a better opportunity to bare one’s crack for fashion.
