Lionel Messi’s anticipated G.O.A.T India Tour 2025 managed to leave fans in Mumbai excited as they visited Wankhede Stadium in huge droves to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. The evening was organised to celebrate the presence of the football icon, and his connection with Indian sports culture. During the evening, an unfortunate moment occurred when Bollywood actors Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn got booed by fans. It happened during the felicitation ceremony. Messi had visited Mumbai after his visits to Kolkata and Hyderabad a day earlier.
When were Bollywood stars booed?
During official proceedings, Tiger Shroff was called on stage. He was introduced as a ‘youth icon’ and ‘India’s youngest action star’. He attended the event as the face of Project Mahadeva. For the unversed, it is an initiative to focus on scouting and training young football talent across Maharashtra.
During the felicitation by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, fans started booking from the stands, which further led to an uncomfortable vibe.
Ajay Devgn too was invited and referred to as an actor whose work focuses on discipline and purpose. The announcement had football-centric context, courtesy his film Maidaan. Even though it focused on the golden era of Indian football, courtesy legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, the crowd remained unfazed.

It was heartening to see how Lionel Messi got the loudest cheer as he interacted with Messi towards the end of the programme. Tendulkar presented Messi with a Team India jersey. The football icon accepted it and later, gifted him a football in return.
