Television popular actor Dilip Joshi – who plays the role of Jethalal from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah – has been beaming with joy after his show secured a second spot on the TRP charts last week. The actor spoke to Etimes TV about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah bagging the second spot on the TRP charts and beating Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Udne Ki Aasha. Dilip said that the success of the show goes to producer Asit Modi and calls it an amazing feeling.
He said, “The credit goes to Asit bhai and the writers. Script has to be interesting, actors almost are the same only a few have changed. Agar script mein jaan hai toh actors can come together and do wonders. Initially, we would make it to the Top 10 show in the TRP list but last week we were on number 2. It’s an amazing feel”.
Dilip also shared his thoughts about how an entire generation has grown up watching Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He said, “When I meet people, they tell me sir Humara toh pura bachpan aapko dekhte dekhte guzra hai. We have grown up watching you. The show has been on-air for last 17 years”.
Dilip called the show a life-changing experience and said, “I can’t deny that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been a life-changing journey for me. The immense love and admiration I’ve received from the audience are truly overwhelming. From elderly viewers to little kids, from all walks of life—everyone has showered me with affection”.
For the uninitiated, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah secured the second spot on the TRP charts and the first spot was secured by Rupali Ganguly starrer Anupamaa. Udne Ki Aasha got a third spot, while Samridhhi Shukla and Rohit Purohit starrer Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai got the fourth spot.
