Sonu Nigam, AR Rahman and Pritam are the three of the biggest names of the Indian music industry. Their contribution to Indian music industry has been incredible. AR Rahman and Pritam have composed some of the most popular songs for Bollywood films while Sonu Nigam is known as the ‘Lord of Chords’ thanks to his versatile singing. But in a recent interview, Sonu Nigam opened up on the different working styles of Pritam and AR Rahman. Something that offended Pritam!
Sonu Nigam shares why Pritam got offended
In an interview with O2 India, Sonu Nigam shared that AR Rahman and Pritam have a completely opposite working style. While AR Rahman gives ‘liberty’ to the singers, Pritam gets into the nitty-grittiest. The Sandese Aate Hain singer said that the singers don’t feel like they are working in a high-pressure environment while working with AR Rahman. But that’s not the case with Pritam. Sonu Nigam shared the same with Pritam but he perhaps got ‘offended’. The ace singer was quoted saying, “Pritam comes from a different school of thought. He goes into the nitty-gritties, and he isn’t wrong. Everyone has their own style. I remember telling Pritam that you are just the opposite of AR Rahman. I told him that Rahman is such a renowned composer and he does not bother anyone, and you are just splitting hairs. He was perhaps offended by this then but I said what I was experiencing.”
Sonu Nigam did add that he said it out of love but Pritam perhaps got offended due to comparison.
This comes after Sonu Nigam made a surprising revelation about AR Rahman. Earlier in an interview, the Dil Se singer had said that AR Rahman is not a friendly person. “Perhaps, he opens up in front of his older friends, who have known him as Dileep. But I haven’t seen him opening up or having any relationship with anybody. He is not a friendly person. He is just into his work,” Sonu Nigam was quoted saying.
