Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin climbed onto the roof of his lavish Gold Coast mansion on Wednesday to prepare for Tropical Cyclone Alfred’s arrival on Friday evening.
The former AFL star, 38, was seen clearing out his gutters in video footage shared to Instagram by his model wife Jesinta.
With the ominous cloudy skies as his backdrop, Buddy wasted no time making sure his luxury home was well prepped to stand against the coming storm.
Jesinta captioned the video with ‘gutters done’ before sharing several more posts detailing how the couple and their family are preparing for the category two cyclone.
The former Miss Universe Australia, 33, posted clips of the huge waves battering Burleigh Heads as she picked up children Tullulah, five, and Rocky, four, from school.
She then showed herself sitting in a car as rain began to pour, writing: ‘It’s starting to get heavy now.’

‘Stay safe everyone. Praying this isn’t as bad as what they think it will be.’
Jesinta ended her commentary with a black and white picture of Buddy walking into Toymate as the family ‘stocked up on some new board and card games’.
Buddy and Jesinta famously smashed price records when they bought their Reedy Creek mansion for $8.75million in 2022.
However, they have recently been trying to sell the property so they can try out the farm life with their two kids.
The couple took their home to auction last year, but it was passed in for $11million, with the pair intending to relist the home this year.
Their stunning eight-bathroom Gold Coast spread covers a whopping 1096 square metres and features spectacular views of the nearby coastline.
Located on high ground some 16km from the Gold Coast CBD, the resort-style multi-level home features expansive grounds and two separate dwellings.
The two-storey main residence boasts a ‘rumpus room’, a media room, and a private living room among its lavish amenities.

There’s also a large pool and entertainment deck with adjoining ‘pavilion’, while the gourmet kitchen offers a dolomite marble breakfast island.
Design features include grand floor-to-ceiling windows with ‘Spanish’ style arches, timber floors and lime-rendered walls.
A second two-bedroom residence on the estate serves as a ‘guest house’ and comes with two well-appointed bathrooms.
As Cyclone Alfred tracks toward Australia’s east coast, some of the country’s biggest celebrities are bracing themselves for the worst.
Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth and Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic both have multimillion-dollar properties at risk.
Former tennis champ Pat Rafter also has an A-list property in the path of the cyclone, as well as US Ambassador Kevin Rudd and his wife Therese Rein.
The worst of the weather is expected to hit the South East Coast of Queensland, which takes in the Gold Coast and is home to some of Australia’s most sought after beach-side real estate.
And now it appears the region around Byron Bay in far north NSW, the stomping ground of Chris, 41, and his wife Elsa Pataky, is now under the threat.

The couple own a mega-mansion worth $50million, near Seven Mile Beach, which is 111km south of the Gold Coast.
They originally purchased a house there in 2014 for $7milliion and proceeded to tear down the existing eight-bedroom home to begin construction, in 2017, on their sprawling property.
Taking two years to complete, the home features six bedrooms, a spa, games and media rooms as well as sprawling outdoor living areas.
The couple reside in the property with daughter India, 12, and twins Sasha and Tristan, 10.
Also in Byron Bay is 52-year-old former tennis champ Pat, who lives with his family on a 28 hectare spread at Broken Head which he bought for $1.35million in 2016.
He later built a home—complete with tennis court and clubhouse—on the property for an estimated $1.5million.
Further north Karl and Jasmine Stefanovic have their Noosa property to protect.
The Today show host, 50, and his designer wife, 40, are currently renting out their five-bedroom, five-bathroom holiday house for $1,000 a night.

Dubbed Villa Isabelle, the amazing spread, which they bought in 2020 for a reported $3.6million sits on a cliff overlooking the popular shoreline in southeast Queensland.
Spread over three levels the home boasts outdoor entertaining decks, a BBQ area, private balconies and an undercover garage.
Meanwhile, Mr Rudd, 67, Ambassador to the US, and his wife Therese own a $17million beachfront mansion in Noosa once owned by Pat, which they snapped up in 2022.
The seven-bedroom house boasts panoramic views of the ocean and also comes with a 12 metre pool, a cinema room, five bathrooms, a study and climate controlled wine cellar.
Justin Hemmes splashed out a record-breaking $17million for a beachfront Byron Bay pad in 2023.
The Sydney pub baron, 52, bought the two-bedroom property at Byron Bay’s Belongil Beach in an off-market sale, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
It was previously owned by Stephen Hains, the son of billionaire businessman and horse breeder David Hains.
MasterChef Australia star Shannon Bennett also lives in a sprawling $2million six-bedroom mansion which enjoys direct access to picturesque Belongil Beach.
According to Urban, Shannon, 49, bought the land—a five lot 4,588 square metre block—from entertainment industry entrepreneur John Cornell in 2020 for $2million.
Cyclone Alfred has slowed over warm water off Australia’s east coast, increasing the chance of it strengthening to a category three system.
The tropical cyclone will be the first to hit southeast Queensland and northeast NSW in over 50 years.
A warning zone stretching 650km remains in place from Double Island Point in Queensland to Grafton in northern NSW.
The zone includes Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Byron Bay and Ballina, but doesn’t include Grafton.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall in Queensland on Friday at 7pm (local time), the Bureau of Meteorology said.
The Bureau said there was a chance the cyclone could make landfall directly over Brisbane, but the most likely crossing ‘still remains between Maroochydore and Coolangatta’.
