After two years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s relationship is over.
Their divorce has already been settled only five months after Jennifer Lopez first filed to end their marriage.
Once their divorce is finalised in February, Lopez is said to have plans to drop Affleck from her surname.
The ‘Bennifer’ story ends in divorce
The couple’s on-off relationship captivated the media for almost two decades, dubbing them ‘Bennifer’ as they were so inseparable.
They first fell in love on the set of the movie Gigli in which they were co-stars and got engaged in 2002, but called off the wedding, blaming excessive media attention as the reason for the split. When they got engaged for a second time in 2022, it seemed like the pair were meant to be. However, two years later, Jennifer had filed for divorce.
Quick resolution of J-Lo and Ben Affleck’s divorce
The settlement was resolved surprisingly quickly considering that a prenuptial agreement was not drawn up before the couple’s marriage.
It is reported that Ben and Jennifer will walk away from the union with whatever they acquired individually during the two years they were together. This means actor Ben Affleck will not have to split his stake in the production company Artists Equity which he founded with Matt Damon in 2022, four months after marrying Jennifer.
The couple’s lavish $60 million Beverley Hills home has reportedly been up for sale for months.
Despite their marriage ending, the pair seem to have stayed on good terms.
Ben Affleck and J-Lo’s plans for 2025
Ben Affleck is set to appear on screens again in The Accountant 2 which is due for release in April 2025. The film picks up where the 2016 thriller based around his character, Christian Wolff, left off.
Cosmopolitan magazine recently reported that Jennifer Lopez plans to make a serious comeback in 2025. This includes plans for a world tour and her hopes to receive an Oscar for her performance in the recent movie Unstoppable, made by Damon and Affleck’s production company.
