One of Adam Sandler’s former co-star is speaking out amid fan comments about his surprise inclusion in Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s recent wedding.
The 59-year-old actor was a key player in the couple’s $50 million wedding, which took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
It was later revealed that Sandler officiated the nuptials between Swift and Kelce, both 36.
Fans were perplexed by the couple’s choice – with some calling it ‘random’ – despite Sandler having previously worked with Kelce on Netflix’s Happy Gilmore sequel.
And now, Sandler’s Click co-star Jana Kramer is coming to his defense.
On Friday’s episode of her Whine Down podcast, Kramer, 42, praised ‘sweet’ Sandler as she reflected on her experience working with him on the 2006 comedy film.

‘I will say [on] the Adam Sandler piece of things, I met him a million years ago. I did that movie Click with him.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to Sandler’s representatives for comment.
For the movie Click, Kramer played the daughter-in-law to Sandler’s character Michael Newman.
In the film starring Sandler and Kate Beckinsale as the leads, Kramer played Julie, the wife of Jake Hoffman’s character Ben.
‘It almost does make sense to me now because he does have that sentimental [personality] like, he’s just such a sweet man,’ she added.
‘He really is, and he’s a good man. So I could see him being really funny, but then also really grounded and sentimental,’ Kramer gushed.
The actress also said Sandler is ‘very intentional when he speaks’ and revealed that compared to the characters he plays, he actually tends to be ‘soft-spoken’ in real life.
For Sandler’s film Happy Gilmore 2, he worked with Kelce as the football player made a brief cameo in the film.
When the Grammy-winning singer and the NFL star asked Sandler to be the one officiating their nuptials, he ‘said yes right away,’ per People.

The insider referred to Sandler as the ‘perfect person’ to be the officiant as he has ‘been happily married for so many years.’
Sandler and his wife Jackie, 51, recently celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in June.
On the same day she released her podcast episode, Swift and Kelce were seen making their first public appearance as husband and wife at another wedding.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his now-wife attended the wedding of his former teammate JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Smith-Schuster was previously the Chiefs wide receiver, and he just tied the knot with his longtime love Laura Kruk.

The couple tied the knot in front of a thousand of their friends and family with Swift’s brother Austin as her Man of Honor. Kelce’s brother Jason Kelce was his Best Man.
