Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo filed a motion to strike parts of a lawsuit from their former decorator after she allegedly fell off a ladder in their home.

According to documents obtained by People, Shana Kallen filed a complaint against the couple in 2024, one year after the incident took place. Kallen claimed she fell while trying to get down off the roof at Levine and Prinsloo’s house in Montecito, California, after being hired to decorate the property with the placement of plants, trees, flowers and planters. As a result of the fall, Kallen allegedly suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Kallen filed an amended complaint in December 2025, requesting more than $25,000 in general damages. She also asked for “an award of future medical costs” that ranged between $3 million and $4 million.

In the filing, Kallen accused Prinsloo, 37, and Levine, 46, of acting with “malice” and “reckless disregard” for her safety. She claimed the fall from the ladder caused her head and body “to violently strike the concrete ground,” which led to her being in a coma for two days before undergoing a craniectomy.

Kallen alleged that she was left with “significant” injuries following the incident. The side effects included “diminishment” of hearing and eyesight, which caused her to require hearing aids for both ears and prism glasses. Injuries from the accident resulted in the “suspension of her driver’s license, reduction in life span, and other damages to her body and health,” according to the legal paperwork.

Prinsloo and Levine responded on Tuesday, January 20, by requesting that the punitive damages be thrown out. They also claimed the request that they pay Kallen’s future medical costs is prohibited by civil code.

The pair requested that portions of Kallen’s complaint be struck due to the allegations of negligence, which they referred to as “boilerplate allegations that do not rise to the level of malice, fraud, or oppression required in order to sustain a claim for punitive damages.”

Prinsloo and Levine denied any malicious claims and claimed the accident was a result of “passive negligence.” According to property records, Behati and Prinsloo purchased their Montecito home for $52 million in 2022. It was sold for $60 million in October 2025 after previously being listed for $65 million in July 2025.

Before their legal motion, Prinsloo and Levine didn’t publicly address the allegations. The duo have remained largely out of the public eye after Levine faced cheating claims.

In late 2022, Prinsloo announced that she was expecting her third baby with the musician. Days later, Levine was accused of being unfaithful after model Sumner Stroh claimed he reached out to her online.

Levine issued a statement at the time, denying that he cheated on Prinsloo.

“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life,” he wrote via Instagram Story in October 2022. “In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.”

Levine added: “My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.”

A source later told Us Weekly that Prinsloo and Levine were focused on their family.

“Adam has done a complete turnaround in how he handles his marriage,” the insider exclusively shared in March 2023. “He basically recommitted himself 100 percent to Behati and his family.”

According to the source, Levine “realized he made a huge mistake” by talking to other women. “They’re spending more quality time together, date nights without the kids and girls only nights for Behati,” the insider added. “Adam also got back to basics [doing] yoga and meditation, and just got his priorities straight.”
