Produced by Asit Modi, the show features Dilip Joshi as Jethalal Gada and has been entertaining the viewers for several years now. However, the show has been embroiled in multiple controversies, which also includes actors’ exit and accusations levelled against Asit Modi, which did result in negative press. Currently, actor Gurucharan Singh, who played Roshan Singh Sodhi, is in the news.
Gurucharan Singh, who had made an exit from the show in 2020, is in news again as he is reportedly ill. Fans have been wishing him a quick recovery. Meanwhile, Asit Modi has revealed why Gurucharan Singh made an exit from the show.
‘He decided to leave’, Asit Modi on Gurucharan Singh’s exit
In an interview with Times of India TV, Asit Modi shared that he is emotionally connected to Gurucharan Singh even though he has quit the show. He also added that his family loves Gurucharan Singh but the actor was going through ‘issues’ in between.
Asit Modi further asserted that Gurucharan Singh decided to quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on his own and he wasn’t asked to leave by the makers. It was a personal call.
“He also feels now that he should have been a part of the show and he likes the show. It’s been 16 years to TMKOC and people have their personal reasons to leave the show and you can’t expect anyone to be a part of your show forever,” said the producer.
Back in April 2024, Gurucharan Singh hit headlines when reports of him going missing went viral. About 25 days later, he returned home. Now, the reports of his hospitalisation has left his fans concerned. His friend Bhakti Soni shared that Gurucharan Singh hasn’t eaten anything for 19 days.
