Tom Holland’s dad is spilling the beans.
Dominic Holland confirmed in his latest Patreon blog post, “That engagement,” that his eldest son proposed to Zendaya.
“I expect amongst my Patrons are journalists,” Dominic — who is an English comedian, author, actor and broadcaster — observed.
“It amuses me that each week they hope for a morsel on Tom as they wade through my ramblings.”
He continued, “The big news this week is a good example of just such an opportunity for me — are they/aren’t they engaged? Zendaya wearing a ring and Tom nowhere to be seen adding to the intrigue.”
The 57-year-old acknowledged that “the engagement has now been confirmed” but made sure to note that he would not be “adding anything new and juicy like a date, venue, guest list…”
Instead, he chose to contrast “the different approaches of father and son to proposing marriage” to their girlfriends.
“Tom, as you know by now was very incredibly well prepared. He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter,” Dominic revealed.
“Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear…”
Dominic recalled how he proposed to the “Spider-Man” franchise star’s mom, Nikki Holland, admitting that it was “nothing like my eldest son who has obviously watched all the slushy movies because growing up I never saw him reading a book.”
The proud papa went on, “For most blokes, the stress of purchasing an engagement ring is being able to afford it. I suspect that this was the least of Tom’s worries, more concerned with the stone, it’s [sic] size and clarity, its housing, which jeweller [sic]…”
Dominic later wrote that he doesn’t “envy those who are gawped at wherever they go, which brings me to the newly engaged couple.
“I do fret that their combined stardom will amplify their spotlight and the commensurate demands on them and yet they continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb,” he marveled.
“And even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention … I am completely confident they will make a successful union.”
Zendaya, 28, flashed what looked like an engagement ring while attending the 2025 Golden Globe Awards last weekend, going on to do “a sort of jazz-fingers motion” when a reporter asked whether she was a fiancée.
Page Six confirmed the couple’s betrothment the next day, with sources telling TMZ that Tom, also 28, “popped the question between Christmas and New Year’s” 2024 in a “very intimate setting” at one of Zendaya’s homes.
According to the outlet, the actor met with the actress’ father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, “months ago” to ask for her hand in marriage.
Zendaya’s family is reportedly very excited and thinks Tom is a “class act.”
The “Captain America: Civil War” star appears to have presented his bride-to-be with a 5.02-carat Jessica McCormack design featuring a cushion-cut center stone set in an east-west style on the designer’s signature button backing.
Though “Tom and Zendaya had discussed marriage over the years,” insiders told us the “Dune” franchise star “had no idea he was planning to propose.”
Our informants added that since “they both value their privacy,” the proposal “was something Tom wanted to keep private as well.”
He made sure to get Zendaya’s mother Claire Stoermer’s blessing as well, we were told.
In November 2024, weeks before Tom got down on one knee, the pair got matching tattoos: the “Euphoria” star opted for a tiny “t” on her wrist, while her fiancé went with a tiny “z” on his ribcage.
The duo — who played on-screen love interests in the 2017 movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming” — confirmed their romance with a paparazzi-caught make-out session in July 2021.
