A sprawling country estate owned by Australian tennis ace John Alexander has finally gone under the hammer for over $7.5 million.
Located in the Southern Highlands of NSW near Moss Vale, the 36-hectare property first hit the market in October 2023 with a price guide of $10million-$11million.
But the former Liberal MP and Seven sports commentator was forced to re-list it in March 2024 to find a buyer after slashing the price by $3.5million.
No details of the sale have been disclosed, including the final price, reported The Wentworth Courier.
But an agent involved with the sale confirmed to the publication that Alexander settled the deal ‘within’ the revised price range of $7.5million and $8.25million.
Alexander, 72, splashed out $4,845,000 on the working cattle spread and horse stud back in October 2017.

Until the sale, he had been renting out the spread to vacationers as an AirBnB for $2,000 per night for weekend getaways with a two-night minimum.
Known as Iona Park, the property is situated amongst lush farmland 135kms from Sydney and boasts two clay tennis courts, 14 stables, and an arena and a covered round yard used for horse training.
The grand two-storey homestead is classically styled and features a formal dining room, a private panelled library, a billiard room and a ‘family room’.
Highlights include a spectacular foyer, which features a sweeping staircase, private balconies for the upstairs bedrooms and a patio that sweeps around one wing of the main homestead.
There’s also a self-contained two-bedroom guest cottage with kitchen and living room.
Other features include a front porch that looks over sculptured gardens, a home cinema and a pool.
According to the report, Alexander now plans to down size to a smaller property nearby.
He bought the property after selling his home in Sydney’s Putney for $2.7million.

Beginning his career on the court in the 1960s, he rose to fame as a tennis champ in the 1970s and Alexander won the doubles at the Australian Open three times.
He was the youngest player to represent his home country at the Davis Cup.
Alexander represented Australia at the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
He later forged a career as a businessman in the fitness and leisure sector, and was involved in building the Ryde Aquatic Club.
Well-known to sports fans, the tennis great became a TV celebrity as a commentator for Channel Seven and called the Australian Open 23 times for the network from 1986.
He was also appeared on the Gladiators reality series.
A member of the Liberal Party Alexander was elected to office after wining the seat of Bennelong in 2010.
He retired from politics in 2021.
