Junaid on losing Laapataa Ladies to Sparsh Shrivastava
Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, is one of the most loved movies of 2024. It stars Sparsh Shrivastava in the lead role. In an interview, Junaid revealed that he did a test for Laal Singh Chaddha where Kiran Rao played his mother. The duo shot a few scenes for four days for 20-minute footage. However, due to budget reasons, things didn’t work out. In the same interview, Khan revealed that he even did a test for Kiran’s movie.
Further in this entertainment news, Junaid Khan told Vicky Lalwani that he also auditioned for Kiran’s 2024 movie. Khan stated, “Laapataa Ladies was a very different scenario. I did a screen test for the film, but Kiran just said, ‘Sparsh Shrivastava is better for the part,’ and I agree with her. He was better suited for the role.” In the same interview, Junaid revealed that the fact that Rao didn’t choose him didn’t affect his relationship with her. He calls Kiran a very fun and warm person.

Along with Sparsh Shrivasta, Laapataa Ladies also stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Ravi Yadav, and Chhaya Kadam. On the other hand, Junaid Khan will have his first theatrical release this year with Loveyapa. It also stars Khushi Kapoor in the lead role.
