The Shaktimaan movie rights discussion has been going on for quite some time now. Two years ago, Sony Pictures India announced the movie with Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The story is based on Mukesh Khanna’s series of the same name, which used to air during the 90s. Khanna is adamant on not giving the rights to the iconic superhero character.
Often in several interviews, Mukesh Khanna expressed how he doesn’t want Ranveer Singh to play Shaktimaan. But in a recent interaction, he revealed the character he thinks Singh would be suited for. In the interview, Mukesh first clarified that he didn’t make Ranveer wait to meet him. The meeting was organised by Sony and the Lootera star met him with the intention of convincing him that he could play Shaktimaan.
In the same interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh revealed that even YRF showed interest in the superhero show 10 years ago. But as usual, he refused to give the rights. So which character Mukesh thinks Ranveer is apt for? The answer is Tamraj Kilvish. In this entertainment news, Khanna stated that Ranveer is a person full of enegery and convinced him for 3 hours for Shaktimaan rights. Singh also showed him how he got his first movie and acted in front of Mukesh how he would play Shaktimaan.
Mukesh added, “I really wanted to tell him that play Tamraj Kilvish. He wanted to convince me that he can play Shaktimaan. That meeting ended in no result.” Meanwhile, it has been two years since the movie was announced and there has been no progress.
However, Ranveer Singh has some interesting movies in the pipeline. The actor is currently busy with Aditya Dhar’s untitled spy thriller. Singh will also be taking over the Don franchise with Don 3. Earlier, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan played the gangster in movies.
