Edi Gathegi, who stole scenes with his turn as superhero Mr. Terrific in last year’s Superman, has joined the bold-faced cast of Miami Vice ’85, Universal Pictures’ big-screen take on the classic TV series.
Gathegi joins a call sheet that already includes Michael B. Jordan, Austin Butler, Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, Danny Ramirez, John Leguizamo and Andrew Shulz.
Joseph Kosinski, who helmed the propulsive Top Gun: Maverick and F1, is directing the new big-screen take on the 1980s TV show, with the feature project eyeing a November production start and shoots in New York and Miami.
