Everyone wants a home they can come home to and relax after a long day at work or school.
But this family decided to take things up a notch with their very own in-house slide.
In a video posted by home and living publication Uchify to their TikTok page on Wednesday (Sept 23), an interior designer from Jesigns Interior Design can be seen taking viewers on a tour of a newly renovated home.
Renovations for the Japandi-inspired executive maisonette cost around $200,000, said the firm’s creative director, Wang Shun Li.
The highlight of the house is a TV feature wall integrated with a slide.
Wang explained that his client wanted a “fun house” where the parents could interact with the children while watching TV.
He also demonstrated how the slide, which branches out from a flight of stairs, had railings which doubles as a gate, for safety.
The TV feature wall was even designed to look like a book page.
Wang explained to Uchify that the slide was built from scratch and made out of laminates with carpentry.
He added that building the slide cost around $10,000.
The unit also features an open concept dry pantry, hidden access to a floating display cabinet and skylights from Taobao which are over $100 per piece.
Wang also told Uchify that homeowners who want to invest in kid-friendly designs should ask themselves whether or not their designs are future-proof and if their kids would get sick of it.
“I think with very young kids, it’s definitely worth a go,” he said.
The TikTok video has garnered over 251,000 views, almost 10,000 likes and over 5,000 shares at the time of publishing.
