Since venturing into livestreaming, Hong Kong actress Shirley Yeung has reportedly been streaming every night for up to 10 hours at a time, often into the early hours of the morning to support her family, reported Hong Kong publication HK01.
The 48-year-old started livestreaming in 2024 and is doing so “almost every day”, according to netizens on Weibo.
In 2011, Shirley made headlines for her breakup with her actor boyfriend Gregory Lee whom she had dated for nine years. She dated diver Andy Ng, became pregnant but broke up with him after three months, and became a single mum in 2012.
She married a non-celebrity in 2019 and they have a son born the following year.
Shirley landed an advertisement for a jewellery store recently and was spotted at the event in a long white dress and high heels.
Many netizens took to social media to share photos of Shirley, praising the former beauty queen for her appearance and dedication.
Some were amazed at her ability to maintain her good looks and figure despite staying up late to hold streams, while others were happy for her return to the entertainment scene.
One netizen pointed out that Shirley even livestreamed while having her meals.
She held a bowl of rice in one hand and a pair of chopsticks in the other in the 90-minute clip and barely managed to get a few mouthfuls in before she continued to engage with viewers.
In the video, Shirley also mentioned that she hadn’t worked overtime in a long while because she’s “happily working every day”.
Another netizen said Shirley had been streaming all night, up till 9am the next morning.
A 2025 report from Hong Kong publication The Standard said she was believed to earn approximately HK$200,000 (S$32,400) per livestream.
She first shot to fame after winning the 2001 Miss Hong Kong pageant. Shortly after, she started her acting career under Hong Kong broadcaster TVB and made her debut in the 2003 drama The Threat of Love II.
