George Clooney’s $100million Lake Como party pad has hosted the likes of the Obamas, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – but has his love affair with the home ended?
Villa Oleandra mansion is where the film star, 65, first locked eyes with Amal, 48, after she attended one of his lavish dinner parties in 2013.
The treasured memory of meeting his wife is what has previously stopped him from selling the property he purchased from the Heinz family in 2002 for $10million.
Yet, after a visit to a luxurious Capri villa this week, rumours have started to swirl over whether George is finally ready to sell up after 24 years.
His dreamy 18th-century estate overlooking the shores of Lake Como has welcomed dozens of A-lists through its doors.
The sprawling 25-room property, one of the largest private residences on the lake, boasts an outdoor pool and tennis courts.
The Obamas, Harry and Meghan, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are among the stars to have been invited to George’s party pad.
The Hollywood actor’s home has even transformed into a wedding venue when Emily Blunt married John Krasinski in 2010.

He previously denied reports in 2023 suggesting he had listed the Italian villa on the market.
‘The first I heard of it was when Page Six published the story’, George said. ‘Everyone picked it up. It’s not true.’
Despite his deeply special connection to the villa, George and Amal spend little time in Lake Como anymore, using it only for small getaways in the summer.
The actor resides on a farm in France with his wife and their nine-year-old fraternal twins, Alexander and Ella.
George owns multiple homes around the world, including a $14.7 million New York City condo, a 17th-century mansion on the English island of Sonning Eye and a $8.3million wine estate in Provence, France.
Here are all the lucky stars that have been invited to the plush property over the years.
The Obamas

Barack Obama and his wife Michelle enjoyed a relaxing trip at George’s Italian mansion back in 2019.
The former president and first lady were joined by their daughters Malia and Sasha at a charity dinner for The Clooney Foundation for Justice.
They were spotted aboard a boat close to the couple’s multimillion-dollar villa after attending the glamorous event.
While they were in the area, the Obamas enjoyed the idyllic town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, with Malia and Sasha spotted in the famous market.
Ahead of the former president’s arrival, George was reportedly left panicked after a plumbing disaster left the pool half full and ice-cold.
Eager to impress their high-profile pals during their summer European getaway, George asked his bodyguard Giovanni to call the local plumber Dante Pennè – who later detailed the pandemonium he was met with when he visited the property.
Dante was roped in at the last minute to fix the problem at hand before the Obamas arrived.
Speaking to Corriere Della Sera newspaper of his encounter with the Hollywood star, Pennè explained: ‘What a race, I arrive, and they are all upset. Giovanni says to me, “Hurry up, hurry up!”‘
Unaware at the time who the Clooneys were expecting, the plumber admitted he quipped back, ‘Let me work, otherwise I won’t be able to fix it.’
Dante’s talents were put to good use and within a few minutes he was able to sort and drain the thermometer.
He revealed he was awarded for his efforts with a selfie with the ‘worried’ Ocean’s Eleven star – who he noted was clad in a sweaty Casmigos T-shirt.

The Sussexes joined George and Amal at their Italian villa in Lake Como in the summer of 2020 to relax by the pool and explore on motorbikes.
According to the authors of biography Finding Freedom, George was said to have arranged for Harry and Meghan to fly from London to Lake Como on his own private jet.
The newlyweds then arrived at Milan’s airport, and from there were driven in an unmarked car to George and his human rights barrister wife’s Villa Oleandra.
During the three-day visit, a source said: ‘Meghan and Amal spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool and playing with the twins while George and Harry checked out George’s motorbike collection.
‘Harry took one of them out with one of his protection officers. George recently had an accident, so he wasn’t back on his bike yet.”
‘The duke and duchess weren’t the only guests that weekend. Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, were already at the villa when Harry and Meghan arrived, their visits overlapping briefly.’
The Sussexes and the Clooneys are understood to be close friends.
The Clooneys were among the 200 guests who partied the night away at Frogmore House to celebrate Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

The couple said ‘I do’ in a storybook private ceremony on the grounds of George’s Lake Como Villa in 2010.
George directed John in Leatherheads and played host to the lavish wedding that featured fellow celebrities Matt Damon, his wife Luciana, and Emily’s Devil Wears Prada co-star Meryl Streep.
Emily reminisced about her lavish wedding alongside her brother-in-law Stanley Tucci earlier this year.
After Emily and John went back to Lake Como with her sister Felicity Blunt and her husband Stanley, they took a photograph in front of George’s home.
She said: ‘It was very special for John and I to go back, and to go back with these guys [Felicity and Stanley].
‘We actually took a photograph with the four of us on Lake Como, it was so wonderful. We sent it to George and he was thrilled.’

George’s villa served as the set for various scenes of the film Ocean’s Twelve, in which he starred alongside Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Matt Damon.
The entire cast has even enjoyed a stay in the multimillion-dollar villa.
Julia, whose longtime friendship with George is well-documented, previously revealed some interesting new details about their weekend at the villa.
When asked about what it’s like to hang out with the actor and liquor mogul, she said: ‘You know, yeah, everything that you think he is, he is more than that.’
‘We all lived there, when we were doing Oceans 12 we all lived at George’s house. Can you imagine?’ she said of the 2004 shoot.
She added: ‘And I was pregnant for the first time and you would have thought I was made of glass.’
The Oscar-winning actress revealed they were always trying to help her in any way, adding: ‘My bedroom was on the first floor because they didn’t want me to take the stairs.’
‘They just wanted to dress me in cotton balls and usher me. It was really, really charming, yeah.’
Julia added of their friendship: ‘We are very good friends.’
Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer has long been friends with George and visited him and Amal at their lake house in 2018.
The actress was pictured letting her hair down as she arrived at pal George and Amal’s Lake Como home with her Murder Mystery co-star Adam Sandler.
Stepping off the boat, she showcased her style in a simple black vest and tailored suit trousers while her bodyguard followed behind holding a bottle of rosé for the hosts.
During a past appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Friends star revealed how incredible it was to see George become a father.
‘It’s amazing to see him with children. That is what we talked about, that anything can happen,’ she told the host.

Brad Pitt spent time with his long-time pal George at his villa in the summer of 2024.
The Troy actor was seen arriving via private jet in Milan, where he was escorted through the airport by security guards, a source told Page Six at the time.
When talking to an attendant, Brad mentioned he would be spending time with George in Lake Como, which is only an hour drive north from Milan.
Brad was also alone and not with his much-younger girlfriend Ines de Ramon, a jewelry executive in Los Angeles.
The site also claimed that he was dressed casually in a bucket hat with a dark jacket and jeans as he ran out of the airport and into a waiting Land Rover as a Mercedes-Benz followed.
George has been known to host Brad many times at his Lake Como villa. When he was married to Jennifer, they stayed there for several days, dining on pasta and boating on the lake.
Pitt also took his second wife, Angelina Jolie, to the Como villa.
