Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins believes quarterback Josh Allen’s new role as a dad will punch their team’s ticket to the 2027 Super Bowl.
“We’re looking forward to seeing his dad strength,” Dawkins told Page Six of Allen, who welcomed daughter Harper Haize with wife Hailee Steinfeld in April, at the 2026 Espy Awards in New York City on Wednesday. “It’ll come and we need it.”
The NFL player said of the quarterback, “Josh is lit. He has a beautiful life. He motivates us because he plays hard. The kid is unstoppable. He does crazy things. What is there not to love about him? That’s my quarterback.”
Dawkins confidently believes the Buffalo Bills will “of course” win the 2027 Super Bowl.
“We’re shooting for the stars,” he said. “We have a lot of obstacles to go through but the first game of the season is camp. We got to have every guy present, every guy there to have a chance. I think we have a good shot.”
After the team’s AFC divisional round loss to the Denver Broncos in overtime, head coach Sean McDermott was fired in January — ending his nine-year run with the Bills. The team soon announced offensive coordinator Joe Brady would be replacing the beloved coach.
Dawkins said of the coaching change, “We all love him. The energy is great, the energy is cool, he’s a young, hip guy.”
Dawkins is specifically looking forward to competing against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs during the upcoming season, calling the rivalry his “favorite competitive game.”
The Espys — presented by ESPN — welcomed the biggest names in sports including Jalen Brunson, Lindsey Vonn and Dawkins’ teammate Damar Hamlin.
Buffalo Bills training camp begins on July 29, as Allen, 30, will be back at work preparing for the upcoming NFL season.
Steinfeld, 29, announced her pregnancy with Allen — who she married on May 31, 2025 — in a December Substack entitled “29 moments I love this year.”
The “Sinners” actress wore a jacket that read “mother” in a video clip, as her husband kissed her exposed baby bump.
They welcomed their daughter in April, and the singer announced the news in a Substack post.
“Our baby girl has arrived!! We’re feeling incredibly grateful and blessed and savoring these early moments,” she wrote. “Thank you so much for the love and well wishes.”
In June, Steinfeld announced their daughter’s name in a Substack letter to her newborn.
“You’ve been here for only a short while now, and somehow it feels as though you’ve always been ours,” the sweet letter read.
