Son of the year.
Cruz Beckham comforted dad David Beckham after England’s World Cup semifinal loss to Argentina on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old leaned in and hugged the devastated soccer legend in the stands at Atlanta Stadium in Georgia.
Cruz wore his dad’s iconic #7 England jersey to the game, while David, 51, dressed up in a suit and tie.
For most of the soccer match, David, 51, was celebrating and cheering with wife Victoria Beckham, 52, sons Cruz and Romeo, 23, and daughter Harper, 15, as England had a 1-0 lead over Argentina.
But when Argentina scored twice in the closing minutes, David became visibly frustrated and upset, even wiping tears away at one point.
After the game, David called the outcome a “heartbreak” in an Instagram post.
“Heartbreak for us all but memories that inspire and last forever,” he wrote, alongside two photos of Team England.
He added, “Thank you to our team, our fans & our country for what you have given us in this World Cup @england 🏴.”
Over the weekend, David went to the England-Norway game at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium with Victoria, Cruz, Romeo and Harper.
The famous family was seen cheering after England beat Norway 2-1 to advance to the semifinals.
David also posted a picture of the family at the game, gushing over England’s big win.
“What a moment in Miami, I’m so proud of the team tonight reaching the Semi final of the World Cup and to celebrate with my family was so special,” he wrote.
David’s eldest son, Brooklyn, was not in attendance, as he’s on the outs with the rest of the Beckhams.
In January, the 27-year-old wrote a scathing message on Instagram denouncing his famous parents and accusing them of trying to ruin his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz.
When the World Cup started, Brooklyn took a swipe at his family in a shady DoorDash ad, in which he gave away tickets to the soccer tournament.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It’s not like I don’t have tickets,” he said in the ad. “Um, it’s because … it’s a long story.”
Since the fallout, Brooklyn has skipped many Beckham family events, including David’s 50th birthday in 2025 and his low-key Father’s Day celebration last month.
