Lorna Luxe, 43, has spoken out about how she ‘was not destined to be a young widow’ following her husband John Andrews’ death at 64.
The influencer lost John, to whom she was married for 16 years, in February following his 2023 diagnosis and subsequent gruelling battle with stage four adrenal cancer.
She has always been candid about their 21-year age gap’s perks and pitfalls, however has now admitted she ‘genuinely believed’ she had years left with her husband.
Writing in The Telegraph, Lorna penned: ‘I wasn’t destined to become a young widow just because John was 21 years older than me. Life simply doesn’t work like that…
‘Both of John’s parents lived well into old age, reaching their 80s and 90s, so I genuinely believed that we’d have decades together. But if he had been younger, he wouldn’t have been John, so I wouldn’t change a thing.’

In the piece, she continued: ‘I honestly thought we had years left together – he was 64, too young to die really. Instead, aged 43, I’m navigating life as a widow. I can’t get used to that word – or the fact that he’s gone.’
Lorna explained the heartbreaking aftermath of his passing, stating that she still sleeps on her side of the bed and has kept all his clothes.
In April, Lorna recalled John’s ‘slow and sad death’, saying: ‘The body fights it — it’s not an easy, relaxing, passing-into-sleep thing.’
Lorna explained how his death was not how she had imagined it to be as ‘every breath became a chore’.
Ever thoughtful, she revealed that she’s been finding ‘the beautiful notes’ he has left her and joked that he even shared a list of people she’s not allowed to date.
Lorna also took to Instagram and revealed protective John left a list of requests for her, namely that she lock away her 15ct engagement ring at another property so that she wouldn’t be a target for thieves while living alone.
Talking about his sad passing, Lorna told The Times: ‘It wasn’t anything like you see in the films – I’d imagined me nattering away to him until the last minute and him squeezing my hand. But this was slow and sad.

‘When I started to go through John’s phone for his passwords, as he told me to, he’d left these short, sweet, beautiful notes.’
Lorna explained how he had also left a ‘funny’ list of people she wasn’t allowed to date, but wasn’t ‘naming names.’
The couple married 16 years ago on her 26th birthday with John upgrading her diamond engagement ring for a 15-carat version to celebrate 15 years together.
In an Instagram update, Lorna added: ‘I’ve put all of my diamonds in a safe deposit. It was as per John’s request; he did leave a list of things that he’d asked me to do, and that was one of them, I think, more just to protect me a little bit.’
‘I’m not going to wear diamonds in London anyway, because I just do not feel safe wearing them in London and for now I’m living on my own.
‘So he was just like, don’t make yourself a target, just whack them in a safety deposit, and you can go and get them for if you want to wear them whenever.
‘Day to day, I’m not gonna be wearing my rock. I’ve not got rid of it or anything, obviously, it’s just somewhere a bit safer than here.’
Elsewhere, Lorna revealed she is considering having children as she reflected on her wonderful lavish life with the former banker as she addressed their choice to not have babies.
Explaining that they had tried for children when they had first got married when she was aged 26, she said that when she didn’t get pregnant she decided to focus on her career.
In recent years she found herself thinking about children more and considered getting herself ‘checked out’ but after John got ill she decided not to ‘dwell’ on her past decisions.
But, the influencer added that she now has some ‘big decisions to make alone’ after she recently found herself asking the doctor who does her botox if she should freeze her eggs

Lorna and John met when she was 25 and in the midst of her eight-year stint as a Virgin Atlantic air hostess, before marrying in NYC shortly after and going on to live together in Hove, East Sussex, and later Horsham and Warwickshire.
While John previously worked as a banker, following his cancer diagnosis in 2023 and Lorna’s continued success as an influencer, he gave up his job to focus on his health and helping his wife work.
The couple liked to indulge in posh hotel stays and ‘dirty weekends’ in far-flung destinations.
In the last few years prior to his death, Lorna and John said they made sure to live life to the very fullest.
