Joel Dommett’s wife Hannah Cooper broke down in tears as she detailed her ‘disastrous’ attempt to attend Royal Ascot last week, in an Instagram post.
The comedian, 40, and model, 35, who already shared a son Wilde, two, announced the arrival of their second child, Dutch Cooper-Dommett in May.
And just six weeks after giving birth, Hannah attempted to get dolled up for a lavish day out at the races with her husband.
But after ‘squeezing into two different dresses and packing breast pumps’ Hannah said she didn’t recognise herself and couldn’t face attending.
Hannah slipped into an off-white gown for her first look, before changing into a polka dot midi dress and a black fascinator.
She wrote: ‘ROYAL Ascot DISASTER. Had every intention of doing a GRWM, an OOTD, a BTS… because I was finally going OUT OUT.
‘Posh OUT OUT. 6 weeks postpartum. LOOK AT ME GO. Cut to: squeezing into a dress, packing breast pumps, sticking on breast pads, safety-pinning my new boobs into place and taking the obligatory “look at us all posh” photos.
‘Got in the car. Looked at the photos. Didn’t recognise myself. Panicked, turned around and went home.

‘Changed outfit. Tried again. Same result. Tears because I missed the old “who cares, let’s just go out and have a good time” Hannah.
‘Close door. Sniff my 6-week-old baby’s head while breastfeeding… Order restored.’
Hannah vowed to be kinder to herself after the mishap and urged other new mothers to do the same.
She added: ‘New Mum lesson: be kinder to yourself.
‘Six weeks ago I grew and gave birth to an ENTIRE human. Maybe I don’t need to be ‘back’ to anything yet. Maybe it’s okay if I don’t recognise myself some days. Maybe it’s okay if I’m not ready.
‘The old me isn’t gone—she’s just making room for this new version. Hannah 2.0 (Watch out world!!)
‘For now, I’m a little more IN IN than OUT OUT. And that’s okay too. PS. @joeldommett you looked great though!’
Joel previously revealed that he almost missed the birth of his first child because he was ‘next door having a lamb shank’.
He revealed he wanted to get his ‘money’s worth’ while at the private hospital and decided to order from the very posh food menu during the long labour.
At 12 hours in, Joel revealed he enjoyed duck with red wine jus while he ordered his wife Hannah a ham sandwich.
After 30 hours the couple were still waiting for their son to arrive and the ITV host decided to indulge on a lamb shank, which nearly caused him to miss the birth of their son.
Speaking on the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Joel explained: ‘We were in this lucky scenario where we did it privately – by that I mean medically, not alone. All you need to know about the story is, is I’m unbelievably tight, like I really… this is the most money I’ve ever spent on anything in my life.
‘There was this point about eight hours in, this lady came in with a piece of paper and I said, “Oh, hello what’s that?” And she said, “Oh, it’s a menu.”

After sliding into Joel’s DMs following his 2016 appearance on I’m A Celebrity, the star and Hannah went on their first date just days later and immediately hit it off
‘And I said, “Is it included?” And she said, “Yes, of course it’s included,” and I was like, oh my God, amazing. And I then went across the menu and tried to sort of order what I thought looked to be the most expensive.
‘As much as I could for money, and I pick what I thought my wife wanted at that point.’
Joel continued: ‘About twelve hours in, we’re then in the throes of it. It’s happening. The gown is off, the contractions are happening quickly, there’s urine on the floor, it’s all going on I’m just trying my best, you know.
‘That’s the point where the duck with a red wine jus arrives. And, immediately the room smells so much and my wife’s like, “What’s that smell?” And I have to say, “It’s duck with a red wine jus.”
‘I’m trying to eat this duck with a red wine jus as quickly as possible because I’m not going to get rid of it. And she’s like, “What did you get for me?” And I say, “A ham sandwich.” I got her a ham sandwich. And I give her the ham sandwich, I eat the duck with red wine jus, and then the birth ended up being very long.’
Joel revealed that he went back to watching TV as Hannah had a sleep and he decided to reorder off the lavish menu.
He said: ‘We got to about thirty hours in. Too long! I’m like, I’ve got to go back for the Friends rerun. And she has an epidural and she has a little sleep, and they said, after you’ve had your sleep, you’re gonna push and your baby’s gonna be born.
‘While she was having a sleep, I thought this is a perfect time for another meal. And so I didn’t make the same mistake as before I left the room.
‘What I didn’t know was that whilst I was out of the room, she woke up and they said, “Oh, it’s time to push, it’s time to birth your baby.” So she starts pushing and delivering the baby and then suddenly sort of like, “Where’s my husband? Where’s my husband?”
‘One nurse goes, “I don’t know,” and another nurse goes, “He’s next door having a lamb shank”.’
