Jesse Solomon spent nearly 25 minutes ‘crying for reel’ after his friend group confronted a major betrayal at the bombshell Summer House reunion, Andy Cohen has recalled.
While reaction to the reunion has largely centered on Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s scandalous romance, it wasn’t the timeline of events that struck Cohen but rather ‘the emotion’ coming from the devastated cast.
‘I guess that the headline was how visibly shaken a lot of them were,’ Cohen, 58, said. ‘Jesse Solomon spent a good chunk of kind of the last 25 minutes he was sitting there, kind of crying for real,’ he recalled at the Newport Beach TV Fest on Friday.
‘He was very shaken,’ he said.
The group have indeed been dealing with the aftermath of a massive bombshell that rocked their friend group earlier this year, when Batula and Wilson confirmed their romance.
The relationship, however, was a betrayal to Batula’s friend Ciara Miller, who dated Wilson on-off, and her ex-husband Kyle Cooke, who was pals with Wilson.
Jesse Solomon was left ‘shaken’ and ‘crying for real’ as he reflected on a painful betrayal rocking his friend group at the Summer House reunion, Andy Cohen has recalled
The reunion stood out to Cohen as one of the ‘top 10 most tense reunions’ – quite the statement from a host who presided over the ‘Scandoval’ reunion.
‘I would say that the Summer House reunion was top 10 most tense reunions that we’ve had,’ he said.
Cohen said the emotional damage done to the group will be clear in the upcoming final reunion episode.
‘This is a real group and there was real emotional fallout among this group,’ he said. ‘This group is rocked and devastated and it’s very real and it was very emotional.
‘And I left and I was truly spent and I wasn’t in it,’ he said. ‘I was just directing the conversation.’
Indeed, Solomon admitted to being ‘very sad’ as he headed to the reunion.
‘I feel like the friend group is fractured,’ he elaborated during the first part of the reunion. ‘It’s just sad and I hope we’re not just mourning the loss of what we had and I’m hoping that we can find some common ground and move forward the best way we can.’
The reunion was already plagued with the type of drama to come out of a Bravo show even before it aired, with audio leaked from the taping revealing Miller confronting Batula over the relationship.

The romance was a friendship ending move for Miller, who let Batula feel her wrath during the reunion.
The former friends entered an explosive exchange which saw Miller saying, ‘Shut the f*** up, Amanda.
‘You don’t want to cross this f***ing bridge with me. You really don’t. I don’t see your man sticking up for you now, huh?’

The cast of RHOC were present for Cohen’s appearance at the Lido Theater, with Vicki Gunvalson presenting him with Variety’s Creative Impact in Television Award.
Emily Simpson, Shannon Beador, Tamra Judge, Gina Kirschenheiter, Jennifer Pedranti were all there as well, although Heather Dubrow was noticeably absent, as was Cohen’s new boyfriend Kevin Sobieski.
After the event, Cohen and the RHOC cast all went to The Quiet Woman in Corona Del Mar to enjoy the rest of their night.
The group had their own table in the restaurant, with staff members doing their best to keep eager fans from bombarding them.
