Tina Fey has broken her silence about the viral moment Timothee Chalamet was seen ‘manspreading’ while seated next to her at a New York Knicks game.
Last month Chalamet, 30, was dragged online for sitting with his legs spread wide in his courtside seat, which was between Fey, 56, and girlfriend Kylie Jenner, 28.
And on Wednesday’s episode of Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Fey addressed the ordeal, clarifying, ‘Timothee Chalamet was nothing but lovely. Super friendly.’
She added about Jenner, ‘Kylie was friendly and delightful. We had a great time. [Timothee] was joking around with Tracy Morgan.’
The comedienne hilariously added that she had also been taking up space with her backside. She pointed out, ‘For every amount that he’s sitting like this and manspreading, I’m doing the opposite. I’ve got a big ol’ can. As Amy Poehler would say, “God is fair.”
‘Timothee‘s legs are in the front, my big ol’ can is taking the back. We had no beef.’

The comedy legend repeated, ‘We had no beef. It was all good and the Knicks won so everybody was happy.’
‘Timothee Chalamet, if you don’t stop manspreading on Tina Fey, I swear to god…’ one person wrote on the social media app X in April.
Another person speculated about Fey: ‘She’s thinking he shouldn’t manspread so she [can] be comfortable. What a jerk.’
‘Bro sitting like he owns the whole row,’ another internet user said, while another added: ‘I hate this little rat so bad, bro. Show some respect to your elders???’
Fey noted that she had been invited to the game by her longtime friend and collaborator Tracy Morgan.
‘I’ve been there three times now, I think, with Tracy. And so the internet now classifies me as a Knicks fan. I’ll take it,’ she said.
‘That celebrity row is bananas,’ she recalled about the star-studded floor seats.
‘I’m like, hugging Spike Lee before the game. John Leguizamo is there. Susie Esman’s usually there. Tracy knows everyone.’

Fey was on the New Heights podcast to promote season two of her Netflix show The Four Seasons.
While promoting the series earlier this week on a different podcast, she addressed whether she could possibly helm Saturday Night Live as 81-year-old Lorne Michaels’ successor.
She was previously a writer and cast member on the show from 1997-2006.
‘First of all, Lorne’s gonna live forever,’ she told Watch Mojo. ‘And this is what we all want and this is what’s best.’
The Mean Girls screenwriter did, however, highlight her skill as a showrunner.
She noted, ‘I do feel like what I’ve gotten good at is putting together a crew where everyone’s good, everyone’s nice, no one’s a jerk, and everyone has a good time at work.’
