From “Stars Are Blind” to stars and stripes.
Kathy and Paris Hilton modeled a range of all-American styles for Old Navy’s new summer campaign — a full-circle moment, given the family’s long history with the mall brand.
“We used to take [Paris and Nicky] there when they were younger,” Kathy told Page Six Style. “They loved the flip-flops.”
The beloved matriarch has hardly flip-flopped on her love for the label in the time since. But these days, she’s shopping styles for herself instead — like her favorite “timeless” Mid-Rise Wow Boyfriend Straight Jeans.
“The denims are beautiful, and they happen to fit me really well,” she said. “I noticed they were soft and they weren’t heavy, because during the summertime it can get hot.”
While she may be a multimillionaire, Hilton’s not afraid to embrace more budget-friendly fashion choices.
“I always have done high-low, whether it’s my clothing or jewelry,” said the star, who models options like the Seaside Cotton Long-Sleeve Flag Sweater and Straw Sunhat in the new campaign.
“I need to up my daytime [outfits],” she added. “I’m gonna go through the catalogue because I don’t wanna spend a fortune to be driving around doing errands.”
For her part, Paris referenced her signature early-aughts aesthetic with her Old Navy campaign looks — though, as Kathy confirmed, a lot has changed since that era.
“We had a really good time [on set], and I was joking around with Paris at one time,” she recalled. “She was so cute. She’s like, ‘Mom, be serious.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, OK.’ How the tables turn, right?”
These days, the mother-daughter duo is often exchanging style advice, too — and raiding each other’s enviable closets.
“I have a bunch of very special pieces: Oscar de la Renta vintage, Valentino and Chanel,” Kathy said. “So the girls will borrow things like that. They can’t borrow my shoes, but they can borrow my bags.”
But with Mother’s Day on the way, Hilton’s wish list doesn’t include any designer duds; she told us the only gift she really wants this year is “private time” with her kids.
“We’re gonna barbecue and just spend the day together,” she said.
