“Teen Mom” alum Jenelle Evans’ eldest son, Jace, was placed in a mental health facility after allegedly pulling a gun on his grandma.
The 16-year-old allegedly threatened to kill himself and Barbara Evans while being under the influence of drugs and alcohol, sources told TMZ Tuesday.
The outlet reported that Barbara called the cops on her grandson and plans to file legal paperwork to assist with handling him.
It’s unclear how long he will undergo care, but his family is focused on his “health and stability,” insiders added.
A rep for Jenelle, 34, tells Page Six, “At this time, we respectfully ask for privacy for the family and Jenelle Evans. This is a personal matter, and space and understanding are appreciated as they focus on their well-being and time together. Thank you for respecting their privacy during this time.”
Jace’s latest run-in comes after police responded to a “troubled teen disturbance” call at Barbara’s home in North Carolina on Feb. 22, per the outlet.
Seven police officers responded to the property, where the teenager has been living.
Jenelle rose to fame when she starred in MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” after conceiving her first child with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis.
The TV personality got pregnant with Jace when she was a high school senior.
She also shares an 11-year-old son, Kaiser Orion, with her ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith, and a 9-year-old daughter, Ensley Jolie, with her estranged husband, David Eason, with whom she split in 2024.
Jenelle and Eason were previously accused of child neglect after Jace ran away for the third time in October 2023.
According to TMZ, Jace allegedly told cops that Eason assaulted him and was seen with bruises around his arms and neck.
Additionally, front door surveillance footage also showed an alleged altercation and was obtained by Child Protective Services.
At the time, Barbara also alleged to investigators that her grandson ran away because of Eason’s alleged abuse.
Jenelle, however, denied the allegations via Instagram, stating that the runaway case didn’t involve Eason and that her estranged mom “says a lot of untrue things.”
Barbara had custody of Jace for 13 years after Jenelle was charged with breaking and entering and marijuana possession when she was 18. The MTV alum regained custody in March 2023.
