An ABC journalist has been caught in a bizarre foul-mouthed rant while enjoying a night out in Sydney.
Four Corners reporter Mark Willacy was dining with friends at Lady Chu Vietnamese restaurant over the weekend when he was vox-popped by the restaurant’s owner.
Nahji Chu regularly interviews diners at her popular Potts Point restaurant for Instagram content and, this time, it was Mark in the hot seat.
Armed with a mic’d-up Banh Mi, Nahji began the clip with a pointed reference to the debate surrounding alfresco dining in Sydney.
‘The streets are back to life, the naysayers have disappeared… we told them all to get f***ed,’ Nahji said in the clip uploaded to Lady Chu’s Instagram Story, which showed a bustling street filled with diners.
She then turned her attention to Mark, who proceeded to deliver a foul-mouthed rant agreeing with Nahji’s sentiment.

‘Yeah, f*** off, we don’t like you,’ he said.
Mark added: ‘I’m from Queensland, you can f*** off in NSW.’
He didn’t stop there either, directing his invective at the City of Sydney and Lord Mayor Clover Moore, before flipping the bird.
‘You know what? This [alfresco dining] is awesome. F*** off, council,’ he said before asking Nahji: ‘Is it Clover Moore?’
Mark added: ‘I’ve even heard of… heard of her from NSW. Like, I’m from Queensland.’
An ABC spokesperson told The Australian that Mark’s comments were ‘clearly made in jest in what he thought was a private video’.
‘He was not aware of the council dispute and did not agree to the video being used for any purpose,’ the spokesperson said.
It comes after another reporter from rival network Nine was recently left red-faced during a live cross from the Winter Olympics.

It comes after Danika Mason from rival network Nine was recently left red-faced during a live cross from the Winter Olympics
Danika Mason’s crosses to the Today show show sparked such an uproar on social media that Channel Nine eventually turned off the comments to its post.
Danika featured in segments with Karl Stefanovic and Jayne Azzopardi while standing outside in a snowstorm.
She rambled about the price of coffee and responded to Karl likening her to a frozen iguana.
Viewers immediately noticed Mason appeared to slur her words and stumble over her sentences as she attempted to deliver the latest sports news, and made snow angels for the cameras.
She battled through the chilly conditions in Livigno as Karl and Jayne suggested the bitterly cold weather was making it difficult to speak, with the presenter visibly bracing against the harsh elements during the cross.
Appearing on the breakfast program the following day, Danika apologised at the end of her live cross, admitting she had been drinking the night before.
‘And guys, just before we do go, I just want to take a moment if that’s okay, just to apologise,’ she began.
‘I also wanted to say thank you for everyone who has reached out. I’m okay. Probably just a little bit embarrassed.
‘Look, I totally misjudged a situation. I shouldn’t have had a drink. And especially in these conditions, it’s cold. We’ve got altitude. And not having had dinner probably didn’t help as well.
‘But I want to take full responsibility. It’s not the standard that I set for myself.’
