The 2026 Winter Olympics officially starts on Friday, Feb. 6 with the opening ceremony in Milano Cortina, Italy. However, there are a few events, like curling, that start early for group play, preliminaries and qualifying rounds. Countries, like Sweden, Germany, France, Italy, United States and others, compete in Women’s Ice Hockey to start the medal tournament.
In addition, this is the first Winter Olympics featuring pro players from the PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) participating in the games.
