Seth Rogen and the rest of “The Studio” cast backed out of a planned Apple TV event, following Catherine O’Hara’s death on Friday at 71.
The press day is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3. Deadline reported on Saturday that “The Studio” would no longer attend.
Cast members Rogen, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn and Chase Sui Wonders were expected to participate in the press day, which will be at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar. O’Hara was not scheduled to attend.
“We are all heartbroken by the loss of Catherine O’Hara,” Apple and Lionsgate said in a joint statement to the outlet.

The statement continued, “An undeniable legend, icon, and incomparable talent, Catherine elevated every project she was a part of, including the singular genius she brought to her role on ‘The Studio,’ and every transcendent performance she gifted to us.”
Created by and starring Rogen, “The Studio” premiered in March, and has been renewed for a second season. The comedy series is a satire of the entertainment industry, starring Rogen as a studio exec whose desire to make art is often at odds with the commercial demands of the job. O’Hara played his mentor, an ousted former exec.
The show swept the Emmys and Golden Globes.
O’Hara died at 71 on Friday. Her cause of death hasn’t been disclosed yet, but her representatives at Creative Artists Agency confirmed to Page Six that she passed away “following a brief illness.”
While it’s not clear if her diagnosis played a role in her death, O’Hara had situs inversus, a rare condition in which the arrangement of the internal organs is a mirror image of normal anatomy.
The “Schitt’s Creek” actress is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bo Welch, and their two sons, Matthew, 31, and Luke, 29.
Following her death, Barinholtz posted on Instagram, “I never in a million years thought I would get to work with Catherine O’Hara….so profoundly sad….so incredibly grateful I got to spend the time I did with her.”
Rogen also spoke out with an Instagram post on Friday.
“Really don’t know what to say… I told O’Hara when I first met her I thought she was the funniest person I’d ever had the pleasure of watching on screen,” he wrote, adding that her early work on “Home Alone” inspired him, and it was an “honor” to work with her.
He added, “She was hysterical, kind, intuitive, generous… she made me want to make our show good enough to be worthy of her presence in it. This is just devastating.”
