Teddi Mellencamp’s estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, wants her to “focus on the positives” amid her cancer battle — but shed light on the worst parts of her health struggles.
“One of the hardest things for her is she really can’t work out,” the businessman explained to “The Eds” podcast listeners Monday, noting that his ex is “just starting to move her body” again.
“She’s going through the immunotherapy [and] that alone causes some side effects,” the 48-year-old added. “That’s been really hard on her mental health.”
He called Mellencamp’s “inner battle … one of the toughest ones” she has to fight since being diagnosed with cancer in October 2022.
While the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum, 44, suffered from stage 2 melanoma at the time, her cancer progressed to stage 4 — and spread to her brain and lungs — last year.
The reality star underwent emergency brain surgery in February 2025, underwent radiation and celebrated having “no detectable cancer” in her body eight months later.
Arroyave reminded fans of this on Monday, gushing, “Those tumors are gone from what we can see. The chances of that happening were .001 percent. So that was totally a miracle from God.”
He reiterates these “positive” and “huge” wins to Mellencamp “all the time” so she won’t “focus on the negatives” instead.
The Skyline Security Management CEO, who split from Teddi in 2024 after 13 years of marriage, said his former partner should “give [herself] credit” because she’s “doing amazing.”
Arroyave’s update comes on the heels of the Bravolebrity’s dad, John Mellencamp, admitting on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast that she is “struggling.”
Last week, the singer, 74, said, “She’s really sick. … It’s not f–king fun.”
He doubled down in a “Today” show interview Friday, telling viewers “She feels good until she takes that [immunotherapy] and then she feels like hell for about four days.”
John went on to say Teddi had turned down his requests to move back home to Indiana from Los Angeles.
In a subsequent interview with People, John revealed Teddi has “10 lesions [in her frontal lobe] … that are not cancerous right now [but] still interrupt her thinking.”
The accountability coach provided her own update to “Two Ts in a Pod” listeners Thursday as she described the “massive PTSD” she has “from everything that happened.”
