Select Management Group has hired Micah Trainor as the first talent manager for a Canadian office as it grows its profile among influencers in the global creator economy beyond the U.S. market.
Trainor boards Select Canada as parent Select Management builds beyond bases in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville to establish roots in key production hubs for major studios and streamers across the country. Trainor, a former talent rep at Shine Talent Group, based in Toronto, joins Select as it already manages a roster of around 20 Canadian digital creators with a combined 76 million followers across social media platforms.
Select Management Group partners Lisa Filipelli, Caroline Nardilla and Amy Neben said of the company remaking itself as an international player: “Formally expanding into Canada is a natural next step for Select as we build on the strong relationships and client base we already have in the market. Canada has a vibrant creator and brand partnerships ecosystem, and we’re thrilled to have Micah onboard as we deepen our presence and further elevate Canadian talent across the global creator economy.”
Select expands into Canada as an increasingly global media industry sees content increasingly starting and ending on creator platforms and the digital industry assembling a talent infrastructure to rival that of traditional Hollywood. Trainor brings to Select Canada the creators Laurel Ysebaert and Rashna Kutwaroo.
The roster for Select Management Group already includes The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jennifer Affleck, Mikayla Mathews, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Taylor Frankie Paul, and Layla Taylor; and actors, creators and entrepreneurs like Miss Benny, vlogger and LGBT activist Tyler Oakley, Jeremiah Brown, Sarah Cheung and beauty guru Gigi Gorgeous.
In Dec. 2025, the management firm launched Select Sports for athlete representation and brand development in the sports space.
