Brooklyn Beckham was once so homesick for his family that he dropped out of his New York photography course after just one year.
On Monday Brooklyn unleashed an explosive statement claiming that his parents David and Victoria had ‘controlled’ him his ‘entire life.’
But eight years ago he couldn’t bear to be apart from his parents after moving to New York.
Brooklyn, then aged 19, started a four-year course at the Parsons School of Design in September 2017.
But after his first year he deferred the course for an internship with a respected unnamed British photographer and returned home to his family.
Speaking to The Mirror in 2018, sources said: ‘It sounds as if he was truly homesick and was feeling lonely out there.

‘He adores his family, in the end it was the lure to come back to them all that swung it – and the prospect of a terrific internship.
‘Victoria is absolutely delighted at the news and couldn’t contain herself when it was all coming to plan – to have Brooklyn back under the same roof is a dream come true for her.’
The then-teenager had set his sights on the prestigious school, based in New York’s Greenwich Village, after releasing his book of photos, What I See.
His much-mocked book What I See has seen a surge in its value with copies on sale for almost £300 since his explosive statement.
The £17 tome was derided when it was released nine years for its out-of-focus snaps and child-like captions, so much so that Brooklyn abandoned his career choice shortly after and became an aspiring chef.
It also only sold around 3,800 copies from June to October 2017 after it was panned by critics and dismissed as a vanity project.
The book of 300 photographs offers blurry shots of the then 18-year-old and his family at everything from A-list parties to luxury holidays.

One EBay seller had listed the tome for a whopping £297.63 – when the original price was a much more palatable £17
Next to the black and white shot, he wrote: ‘Don’t try this at home. My parents were so angry when they saw this. Cool shot though.’
Another shot lamented how difficult elephants were to photograph.
But hours after his row with his parents went nuclear, the book has been listed on eBay for as high as £297.
A seller said of a signed edition: ‘Condition: NEW, opened only to be signed.
‘Comes with event Flyer and Event Photos! Event details: Signed in Los Angeles, August 2nd, 2017 by Brooklyn Beckham the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham. Wristbanded event with only a very limited number of books signed.’
Another seller offering the tome for £85 gushed: ‘The product is a signed first edition hardcover book.
‘With a total of 304 pages, this book delves into the celebrity lifestyle and general subjects, making it a unique addition to any photography enthusiast’s collection. The autograph adds a personal touch to this special edition, making it a valuable and sought-after item for fans of the talented photographer.’
The book is out of stock on Amazon but a Kindle version is £8.99.

On Tuesday, the Beckham family feud took more sensational turns as Brooklyn’s explosive tirade set off a series of stunning claims and counter-claims.
Perhaps the most incendiary accusation made by the eldest son of former England captain Sir David and ex-Spice Girl Lady Beckham was his claim that his superstar parents had tried to ‘bribe’ him into signing away the rights to his own name.
Among six stinging posts to Instagram on Monday night, the 26-year-old wannabe photographer and food influencer accused them of trying to pressure him into a deal, adding that when he refused, they haven’t ‘treated him the same since’.
Sources told the Daily Mail that Victoria has been left ‘devastated’ as the gulf that has publicly existed between mother and son widened into a seemingly unbridgeable chasm.
