The film has lately joined the top ten highest-grossing Telugu films in 2025. It has already reached the ₹70 crore threshold in India.

Sacnilk, an industry tracker, reports that Akhanda 2 made Rs 4.35 crore net on day five domestically. Between Day 4 and Day 5, the film collection decreased by about 17.14%. The movie made Rs 5.25 crore on Monday. This raises Akhanda 2’s net earnings in India to Rs 70.70 crore. On day 6, the first Wednesday, the film earned 2 lakh (early estimates). The total comes to Rs 70.95 crore.

Akhanda 2: Thaandavam had an overall Telugu occupancy of 20.70% on day 5. The film’s footfall increased gradually throughout the day, with morning screenings at 15.09% occupancy rising to 20.50% in the afternoon. Evening and night concerts did better, with 23.45% and 23.76% occupancy, respectively.
Hyderabad topped the list with 506 screenings, followed by Bengaluru with 316 and Vizag–Visakhapatnam with 153. Guntur (62) and Chennai (49) were on Day 5, while Vijayawada (103) kept up the pace.

Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu are working together for the fourth time. Their last three movies, Legend, Simha, and Akhanda, were all huge box office successes. Due to budgetary difficulties, the movie’s original December 5 release date was changed to December 12. Critics were mostly disappointed with it when it was first released.
The movie, which was reportedly produced with a budget of over Rs 200 crore, also had a significant setback in the Hindi belt when it was unable to garner any audience interest. Akhanda 2 allegedly only made about ₹35 lakh in the Hindi market during its first three days, despite Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu vigorously promoting the movie in the Hindi belt through a few YouTube channels.
