Princess Charlotte is already taking style cues from her mom, and who can blame her? With Kate Middleton’s classic good taste and incredible wardrobe at her fingertips, it’s hardly a surprise that the young royal is already having fun when it comes to festive fashion outings.
Today, the duo attended King Charles’ Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace in coordinated holiday outfits. Princess Kate wore a bright red dress with a white polka-dotted motif by Alessandra Rich, while Charlotte, 10, opted for a velvet maroon dress with a collar.
Both princesses wore their hair half up, secured in the back with bows; Kate’s was a luxe-looking black velvet Miu Miu accessory, and Charlotte’s a more playful burgundy ribbon.
Although no full-length pictures of their looks were shared, Middleton’s dangly Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra earrings are visible in photos taken of the two en route to the event. Princess Charlotte has yet to pierce her ears, but will no doubt have her choice of royal jewels to wear when the time comes.
This event marks the second family holiday outing for the royals this month.
Earlier in December, the Princess of Wales was spotted with her husband and their three children attending the “Together At Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey.
The fivesome wore coordinated navy and green outfits, with Kate sporting an evergreen-colored wool coat dress designed by Catherine Walker.
In some photos, a traditional tartan skirt by Miu Miu could be seen peeking out from underneath.
This year marks Middleton’s return to public work following her cancer diagnosis in 2024. She announced her remission in January 2025 and has been a welcome sight at state banquets and other royal functions throughout the year. In fact, she recently stepped out in her biggest tiara yet to host the German president and his wife for a banquet at Windsor Castle.
King Charles III, meanwhile, continues to wage his own health battles.
The 77-year-old monarch recently shared an emotional update on his cancer treatment as part of Channel 4’s “Stand Up to Cancer” night, explaining that although he is not yet in remission, he is doing well enough to reduce the frequency of treatment in the new year.
It seems like everyone agrees: It’s time to put a bow on 2025 and be done with it.
