Salman Khan‘s next big release is Sikandar. After much anticipation, the makers have finally revealed the release date of the masala entertainer. The film, which has been directed by AR Murugadoss, is going to hit the screens on March 30. It is going to release on a Sunday to keep up with the Eid celebrations. Sikandar stars Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady. The songs and teaser have already added to the hype. Now, latest revelations by the director himself about the plot have added to the anticipation.
In an interview with entertainment news section of Times of India, AR Murugadoss shared some interesting plot details of Salman Khan’s Sikandar. He shared that the film holds a surprise element like that of Aamir Khan’s Ghajini. AR Murugadoss shared that Sikandar isn’t just a mass film but holds strong family emotions. While Ghajini was about a girlfriend-boyfriend love story, Sikandar will revolve around the relationship of a husband-wife. He was quoted saying, “It explores how families function today, how couples treat each other, and what we might be missing in our relationships. That will be the highlight of the film. Though Ghajini seemed to be a psycho thriller to the audience, the love story of Aamir and Asin was the surprise element. Similarly, here there’s an element of love which will move the audience.” He further explained how Ghajini was considered to be an action thriller but the love story became its ’emotional core’. Similarly, there will be a surprise element in Sikandar too.
AR Murugadoss also spoke about managing large crowd on sets amid death threats to Salman Khan. He shared that security was beefed up and checking of all the extra artistes would take around 2 to 3 hours. The filmmaker added that due to the tightened security, the shoot would start late and end in wee hours. “Our biological cycle went on toss. But once we adapted, it became a routine, and the set had a very positive energy,” he said.
