Recently, the television entertainment industry has been dumbfounded over a fraud case, where 25 television personalities, including Ankita Lokhande, Aayush Sharma, Tejasswi Prakash and Adrija Roy, were allegedly cheated out of nearly Rs 1.5 crore. The case came to light after one of a celebrity manger, who represents multiple artists, approached the Chembur police with a formal complaint.
According to reports, a police complaint has been registered against five people including the owners of an Indore-based company, Sky 63 Energy Drinks, in a Rs 1.48 crore fraud case. However, the Mumbai police have taken legal action against Tanish Chhajed and Manu Shrivastava, along with their associates-, Faizal Idrii, Abdul, and Riitik Panchal, under fraud-related charges. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to track down the culprits and recover the lost funds.
Roshan Bhinder, owner of Ayman Entertainment, has filed a police complaint against Chhajed and Shrivastava, alleging that they duped his celebrity management firm. The two men reportedly posed as owners of an energy drink company and hired Ayman Entertainment to organize celebrity endorsements and social media promotions in 2024. Bhinder claims to have arranged 25 celebrity partnerships, but was allegedly cheated by the duo.
The promotional event was attended by 100 celebrities including, Arjun Bijlani, Abhishek Bajaj, and Harsh Rajput. Amongst the 100 celebrities, 25 were selected for the advertisement campaign. As part of the deal, the celebrities were promised a total payment of Rs 1.32 crore, with Bhinder’s commission set at Rs 16.91 lakh. To appear credible, the accused shared a photo of a Rs 15 lakh cheque as a payment guarantee, claiming that the funds would be transferred to Bhinder’s account soon.
Bhinder proceeded with the ad campaign, filming and sharing videos on social media. The accused assured her that the payment would be made within 35 days. However, Bhinder had already paid out Rs 35 lakh in advance to several celebrities, anticipating the accused’s payment.
