A few months ago, AR Rahman and Saira Banu announced that their decision to get divorced. The duo got married in 1995 and have three kids: Khatija Rahman, Raheema Rahman and AR Ameen. When the couple announced their divorce, the music composer’s fans were quite shocked. There were several speculations, including an affair, but Rahman and his family slammed these false claims.
On March 16, AR Rahman was hospitalised in Chennai after he experienced chest pain. The Dil Se music composer was taken to the hospital around 7:30 am. In a voice note Saira Banu requested people not to call her his ex-wife. Saira said, ” “Assalamualaikum. I wish him a speedy recovery. I received the news that he had chest pain and underwent angiography, and by the grace of Allah, he is fine now; he is doing well.”
Saira Banu added, “I want to tell all of you that we are not officially divorced, we are still husband and wife, it’s just that we are separated because I was not feeling well for the last two years and I didn’t want to stress him too much but please don’t say ‘ex-wife’. It’s just that we are separated but my prayers are always with him and I want to say one thing to everyone, especially his family, that please don’t stress him too much, and take care of him. Thank you, Allah Hafiz.”
Meanwhile, Politician MK Stalin has given an update on Rahman’s health on X (formerly twitter). Stalin wrote, “As soon as I heard the news that Isaipuyal @arrahman had been admitted to the hospital due to ill health, I contacted the doctors and inquired about his health! They said he is fine and will be back home soon! Happy! (sic).”
